Chapters 7+8

Chapter 7

Later that evening Cheryl and Kimberley were sat in the kitchen talking,

“charlotte seems better than this morning” Cheryl said

“yeah she does but I think something’s up with her I mean who wears a jacket when the is heating on?” Kimberley says with a puzzled expression

“hmm I don’t know do you think we should talk to her?” Cheryl replied in that moment charlotte entered the kitchen going to the fridge to get a bottle of water

“you okay char?” Kimberley said

“yeah I feel much better now” the young girl smiled

“sit down for a minute babes” Cheryl said, charlotte took a seat opposite both her parents

“what’s up?” she asked looking at both kim and Cheryl 

“well we’re worried about you, you’ve been acting strange these past few days is something wrong ?” Kimberley said rubbing her thumb over the girls hands, charlotte looked down and tears stung her eyes she looked up and sniffed she couldn’t hold it in any longer soon she was sobbing hard she felt two pairs of arms wrap round her

“babes what's wrong you can tell us you can tell us anything” Cheryl said

“I know but I don’t want to disappoint you's” charlotte said through tears

“you wont baby why do you think that?” Kimberley said stroking her hairs away from her face

“because of what I've done”  she said

“what have you done?” Cheryl asked her crying daughter she was starting to worry about what could be so bad that charlotte was sobbing

“I'm so sorry” she said as she took her jacket off and placed her arms on the table with her palms facing upwards what her parents saw made them gasp there were cuts covering charlottes arms they both looked at each other with worry and pain, charlotte started sobbing even harder saying I'm sorry over and over

“its okay baby girl we’re here now you can tell us why you did it we’re not angry just worried” Cheryl said they waited about 10 minutes until the teenagers sobs calmed down before taking their seats next to her Cheryl studied the cuts carefully she didn’t know what to think neither did Kimberley

“well I started doing this about 2 months ago I just felt so lonely and empty I've been failing in school I have no friends apart from scarlotte, Sambuca and jayden and they wouldn’t understand I just feel worthless and I don’t know why please don’t blame yourselves its nothing you's have done you's have been great parents I'm so sorry for what I've done I'm just a pathetic girl and when you told us about me dad it just got worse and I watched mams video parachute to look at him and I was wondering was we such a burden that he didn’t want us and that he doesn’t care for us I means who’s dad doesn’t want his own children?” charlotte said

“baby girl your not pathetic your a wonderful young girl your so bright and caring you haven't disappointed us we just wish you told us how you were feeling we could have helped we’d do anything for you” Cheryl said kissing the girl on the head

“if you wanted to know more about your dad you could have asked we would have told you everything we know” Kimberley said she was a bit out of her range with this, Cheryl knew how she would be feeling because she has been through it before when she was younger she looked at Cheryl to tell her she knew how she felt

Cheryl turned charlottes head towards her and looked her in the eye

“I know how your feeling babes I've been in this place before when I was younger you feel like no-one cares and that your alone and empty like you don’t belong  that you have all this pain and you just want to let it out I know how if feels and sweetie your not alone you have me and mum and three amazing aunties who would've done anything for you” Cheryl finished and gave charlotte a kiss on the cheek
