Chapter Song
Gold on the Ceiling – The Black Keys

Sitting within the dimly lit room, Luca struggled with his conscious. He felt like he had been staring at the footage for hours on end, in reality it was only one minute and forty-eight seconds. That's how long it took him to kill the rectangular box on the screen.
His eyes darting across all the other cameras, briefly overlooking the empty rooms. The complex was still tonight, no business dealings or meetings. The only movement came from the office. Elena straddling Salvatore's lap on the couch while he lay back soundly.
He simply couldn't watch anymore. Cutting off the video footage, he remained seated struggling with his next decision. The light of the cameras illuminating his face while his fingers brushed against the keyboard lost in pensive thought.
Salvatore was his boss, his long time friend, someone he was loyal to and had only just found his way back into his life. There were moments where he was still treading on thin ice, still having to prove himself worthy of his trust again.
Adriana however did not possess the years of friendship the pair had. But they had formed a bond, found common ground. Their friendship blossoming, particularly in the last year.
He had convinced her to return to New York resulting in the rekindling of her relationship with his boss.
And now he found himself in the middle of it all.
While Adriana slept deeply upstairs, Salvatore was being seduced by Elena.
Subconsciously Luca began typing away, his fingers moving at their own accord accessing the cameras internal settings. He found himself bringing the footage of the office back to the moment Adriana walked in with groceries in hand. Pausing the moment he stared at her on the screen. Her innocence captured in that one moment. Totally unaware and none the wiser.
Staring at the question plastered on the right side of the screen his pointer finger tapped pensively away.
Would you like to delete the following recording?
He stared at the capital blinking letter N as he dug deep within himself. Taking a deep breath in, his pointer finger hit the letter Y indicating yes before quickly slamming down on the enter button.
Are you sure you want to delete the following recording?
"Perdonami," (Forgive me) he whispered pressing Y and enter one final time dumping the entire footage and ceasing any further recording within the office for the night. Dragging his chair closer he made sure to add a timer reactivation for the morning.

Salvatore remained seated at the wooded table while Adriana remained in the doorway. He hadn't expected her at the New Jersey estate, truth be told, he was actually annoyed Luca had even brought her here.
This wasn't the time or place for what she wanted to discuss, he didn't have time for this.
"We need to talk." Adriana hissed, her hands on her hips, her finger tips drumming away repeatedly on her hip bone as she sauntered further into what looked like a boardroom.
He had been avoiding her calls all day, she was sure he was screening them.
"You haven't called me back!"
"Perhaps I should have held off on a new cell phone for a few days?" He snapped leaning back into the wooden chair.
"Perhaps next time you continue to rage about a situation you know nothing about you take it out on your desk, not mine." She spat back. "Pouring scotch into my waste basket was a bit unnecessary, don't you think?"
"Excuse me?" Raising one curious eyebrow he looked at her with confusion. He was drunk last night, very drunk. But drunk enough to waste expensive scotch?
