The DJ is on the stage and people are already dancing on the dance floor. But I am not interested in dancing quite yet. First, I need to get drunk.

I grab Tina's hand and pull her down the beach. Not so many people are here, so it's better. Tina has a smirk on her face the entire time. She pulls the bottle of alcohol we brought out of her bag along with two red solo cups.

"It's my turn to open the bottle this time." I snatch the bottle from her hand and open it. I don't know why, but I like opening the bottles. I pour the alcohol into each cup and fill it up.

"To what shall we toast?" Tina lifts her cup up to her face.

"To a new life here in Grover beach." I also lift up the cup and we hit the two cups against one another.

I bring the cup to my lips and take a huge gulp. The liquid burns my throat. But I am used to it, so I don't cringe at the feeling. Tina is also used to the feeling of alcohol, but she always cringes.

"I really needed that." Tina says after a while.

"Me too." I smile at her. "So, have you already looked around to see who you want to hook up with?" I ask her. She's the kind of person, who has to have everything figured out.

"Not really. You didn't give me a chance to, since you dragged me here straight away." She giggles.

"I'm sorry, boo." I make a pouting face at her and she chuckles.

"Don't worry. I've got the whole night to do that." She takes a sip of her drink and so do I. "There's a bunch of guys." Her finger is pointing to somewhere behind me.

I turn around and sure enough, 5 guys and a girl are sitting around the fire on the beach. They are all laughing among themselves and drinking.

"I can't see them clearly to check if they're hot enough for you." I say once I turn my head back around.

I was about to take another gulp from my cup, but I see I have already drank everything. That was quick. I reach for the bottle and pour myself another glass.

"Hit me again, boo." Tina extends her hand with her cup and I pour her more alcohol. "The guy doesn't have to be hot. As long as he's a good kisser and great in bed, there's no problem." I laugh.

"So, you would have sex with any guy who is great in bed and a great kisser? Even if he were a 50 year old man, who's already missing a bunch of teeth?" Her face scrunches up in disgust and I start to laugh.

"Ew! No, I wouldn't!" She shrieks. "You are so disgusting, Darcy!" I can see shivers run up her arms at the thought.

"Well, you said you would have sex with anyone who's -"

"I know what I said!" She cuts me off. "And don't laugh! You know I didn't mean it that way!"

"Yeah, I know." She chuckles.

Another half an hour passes by. And by now, Tina and I are quite tipsy. The bottle we brought is empty and so are our cups.

"Help me up, boo." I hear Tina say from beside me.

I laugh at her drunken state and get up. She drank more than I did, so she is beyond drunk. I am just tipsy. I get up from the sand and clean myself. Tina's arms are already extended and I pull her up.

When she stands up, she almost falls back down. But I catch her before she could.

"Oh my god!" She yells all excited. I see her pointing to the small dance floor. "There're people dancing there." She starts laughing, while I just roll my eyes playfully at her silliness. "I want to dance too, boo." She pouts and starts to wobble to the dance floor. "That rhymes!" She yells and walks faster to the dance floor.
