These past 3 days have been very boring. It was raining every day and I couldn't even go swimming. But Tina has been hanging out with the others every day. After our fight, she apologized and we were okay again. Every time she came home from Chris's and Liam's apartment, she told me how Andy has been asking where I was. Liam has also been avoiding me. We haven't seen each other at all.

I currently finished my first day at work. It has been fun. Well ... as fun as it can be. Kylie, my boss is super nice and funny. She made me feel very welcomed. The other waitresses are also very nice. I am not going to be working much. Mostly, in the mornings, just like I did now.

I look at the clock on my phone and see it's 14.59. I put my apron on the hook at the back of the coffee shop. Before I head out, I fix my white V-neck t-shirt, which is tucked in my high wasted black leather shorts.

"See you on Monday, Darcy." Kelly says to me and waves. I wave back and exit the shop with my fringe bag over my shoulder.

I walked to work, since it isn't far at all. It's a 15 minute walk, the most. I am walking along the street with my headphones in, listening to music, when I see Liam walking opposite me. He is texting someone, as I can see.

"Liam." I call out to him and he looks up from his phone, just as I am pulling the headphones from my ears. He stops walking and I come to him. "Hi." I say.

"Hi." He says back.

"I've been meaning to ask you something."

"Yeah?" He is still a bit tense.

"I don't want to be pushy or anything. But when do you want to teach me to surf? If you still want to." I quickly add.

"Oh ... I don't know when." He scratches the back of his head. "But can we talk about this another time?" He quickly says.

"Why are you avoiding me, Liam?" I finally manage to ask him. "Did I do something to make you hate me?"

"What? No." He sighs.

"Then what is it?" I ask louder. "Ever since we met at the dock, even before that, you've been acting weird. And I noticed, okay?"

"Look, I really don't want to talk about it, okay?"

"Well, I do."

"Can you please forget about it, Darcy?"

"No, I can't just forget about it." I am getting more and more pissed. "You've been ignoring me, so something has clearly been bugging you." He sighs and runs his hand through his brown hair, not saying a word "If you're going to be like this, then just forget about everything, okay?" I start to walk backwards away from him with my shoulders held up.

"Darcy ..." He starts to say.

"No, it's fine. I get it." I shut him up. "If you didn't want to hang out with me in the first place, you should have just said so, instead of ignoring me."

"No, Darcy ..."

"Forget it, Liam!" I yell to him and turn my back to him.

I continue my walk towards the house and listening to music. But I don't really hear the music. All I can think about is Liam. And how dumb I was to think we were friends. I've been a real idiot this time. He clearly doesn't have any interest in being friends with me. If he did, he wouldn't have ignored me. I finally got the idea what he was hinting at.

I get home 10 minutes later. Tina is eating lunch in the kitchen and I join her. She made spaghetti with meat balls.

"Hi, boo. How was your first day?" She is all happy when she sees me. I set the bag down on the counter island with a sigh.
