After another minute of us walking in silence, I decide to speak up. "You know what I've noticed ..." With the corner of my eyes, I see Liam look at me. "You're my friend and I still don't know the basic stuff about you." I look at Liam.

"Like what?"

"Like ..." I trail off. "Like  your favorite food, favorite movie ... that kind of stuff. I don't know anything about your family. If you've got a brother or a sister ..."

"You'd like to know all this stuff?"

"Yeah, I would." I say like it's the most obvious thing in the world. "So tell me."

"Only if you tell me what your favorite color is." I laugh at him.

"I am wearing it." I spread my arms, so he could see my outfit with a chuckle.

"Why did I even ask?" Liam laughs

"Okay ... what's your favorite food?"

"That's easy ... pizza." I laugh.

"Same here." I say excitedly. "Your favorite movie is?"

"Um ... that's a hard one." Liam thinks for a while. "I love Star Wars."

"Who doesn't like that?" We both laugh.

"So, I am guessing those are one of your favorite movies?"

"Yes, but my favorite has to be either Gone girl or Breakfast at Tiffany's. I can't pick just one."

"You're going to be really mad at me now." Liam chuckles.

"Why?"

"I haven't seen either of them." He says a bit shy. My eyes almost bulge out of my head and my jaw drops to the ground.

"We're totally watching that tomorrow!" I state. "And you can't say no, because we are going to watch it."

"Okay, okay." Liam says quickly. "It's a deal. Come over whenever, okay? And we're going to watch it." I get all excited about it.

"Now tell me ... do you have any siblings?" I look up at him.

His expression drops and he looks sad. He isn't smiling anymore. We both stop walking. My smile fades along with his.

"Um ... I had a sister." My lips part a little in shock. I would have never guessed. I can see how his eyes got glossy. The tears are glistening in the moonlight. "My parents are also gone." He looks straight into my eyes. Somehow I feel guilty for bringing it up. "My sister's name was Aubrey and my parents' names were Ally and Jacob. They died in a car crash 3 years ago."

I take a small step to Liam and wrap my arms around his torso. He hugs me back and I bury my face deeper into his chest. His embrace is warm and I feel safe in his arms.

"They were driving from grandma and the wet road got them to end up in a ditch."

"I am so sorry, Liam." I whisper loud enough for him to hear me. "I didn't mean to make you sad." I look up at him and see him lightly shake his head and look at me.

"You could never make me sad, Darcy." A vague smile makes its way on my face.

I bury my face back into his chest and hug him tighter. I would have never guessed what happened to him in the past. Liam seems so carefree and happy all the time. He has more damage than any other person I know.

Soon, we break the hug and I decide to sit down onto the sand. Liam sits next to me. He's so close, that our shoulders are touching. I am looking at the ocean. It can be calm, but the wind can also make it wild. It's just like a person's feelings.
