"But maybe we found love right where we are,
oh, baby, we found love right where we are,
and we found love right where we are."

The girl on the small stage in the corner of the room sang beautifully. As she finished singing the song, the room erupted in claps from everyone in here, including me.

I am currently working a late shift. I always work in the morning, but one of my co-workers got sick, so I filled in for her. The coffee shop is having a karaoke night. So many amazing singers already sang and some not so amazing ones did too. But none of us complained, it was still very fun. Every single person, who got on stage and sang, made an absolute party out of it.

I've been sick for the whole week, so it's Friday now. It was absolute hell for me. I had a high fever, a runny nose and I threw up a couple of times. I felt like shit, for short. I am not the kind of person, who likes to sit at home, in front of the TV or computer if the weather outside is amazing. I need to go out, so I was suffering the whole week. It was hell watching the waves outside my room and not being able to enjoy them.

But Liam was there every day for at least two hours. He made me feel better, even if he just sat next to me, not saying anything. Feeling his presence made me happy. The way he took care of me amazed me.

And when Liam wasn't with me, Tina was. She kept me company the entire time. That was mostly, because she knows how I get when I'm kept inside. She knows me and how much I hate not doing the things I love. Enjoying the waves is one of them.

The girl, who sang got replaced by a guy on stage. "What's your name?" Selena says into the microphone, before passing it to the guy.

"Bryce." The guy answers with a grin on his face.

"And what are you going to sing?"

"I'm going to sing I don't want to miss a thing by Aerosmith." A smile forms on my face as I hear his song choice. I am in love with this song and it also holds a meaning to me. It's mine and Lyla's song.

"Good luck." Those are Selena's final words as she gets off the stage. She's in charge of introducing the singers tonight. Bryce clears his throat and fixes his acoustic guitar before sitting on the chair behind him and adjusting the microphone in front of him.

I take one of the platters and walk towards one of the tables and place the two cups filled with coffee in front of a young couple. The place is packet tonight, so you have to be really careful not to bump into anyone. It wouldn't be okay, if you spilled hot coffee on someone.

"I could stay awake just to hear you breathing,
watch you smile while you are sleeping,"

Bryce starts to sing the song and I freeze in my spot at how beautiful his voice is. His version is slower that the original, which makes his voice stand out even more. The rasp in Bryce's voice gives me goose bumps.

The song reminds me of Lyla. This is our song. I remember how we sang and danced to it all the time. Mom and dad would sometimes join in and sometimes they would just yell to keep it down, since we would scream it out loud. I miss Lyla so much. I just want to hug her and never let her go. I want her to meet Liam and see how happy he makes me.

"While you're far away and dreaming,
I could spend my life in this sweet surrender,
I could stay lost in this moment forever,
every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure..."

I go stand behind the counter and glance around the room if anyone else needs something to drink or eat, but I see everyone's head is focused on Bryce. I glance back at him. His brown hair is styled into a quiff and his eyes are closed as his long fingers run over the strings on his guitar. You can see how much of his soul is put into singing; all of it. He opens his eyes and glances around the room. His eyes meet mine for a split second, but then he closes them once more.
