I walk through the house and to the living room. It's huge! People are dancing all around. I break my way to the middle and start to dance. I don't really care how I look, due to me being quite tipsy.
I am well aware of my drunken state. But I still want to drink more. I go to a nearby table and jump on it. I begin to dance like crazy. I just let the music take me like the sea does whenever I go swimming.
The techno music is blasting and I see another person next to me on the table. It's Andy. I smile at him while I dance. His hands pull me close to his body and we dance together. My back is to his front and his hand is on my hip, guiding me. I look around the room and see people dancing just as crazy as I am. I even see Tina dancing with some guy I don't know. Well ... I don't know anyone here, except those few boys and Maya.
I turn around in Andy's arms and wrap my arms around his neck. We are grinding against one another by now.
Next to the table, where we're dancing is a small round table. It has shots on it. I move away from Andy and grab 2 glasses. I extend my hand to give Andy one. He declines. I shrug my shoulders and quickly gulp one of them down. And a second later, I do the same with the other.
I set the empty glasses back down and grab two more. He pulls out his phone and we take a quick selfie. I gulp them down with ease. I continue to dance on the table along with Andy.
Suddenly, I step to the edge of the table and due to me being drunk, I lose my balance. I scream and fall to the floor on my back. I feel two arms lift me up from the floor. I groan and I feel myself being carried from the room. I feel a breeze on my skin, so I am guessing I am outside. The music isn't blaring as loud as it was earlier.
I open my eyes just when the person sets me down on a chair on the front patio of the house. I groan and rub my head.
"Are you okay?" Liam's concerned voice asks. I look at him and nod. "I can't believe you drank more, even when I told you to stop." His hand was about to rest on my cheek. But I slap it away.
"I already have a mother and a father. I don't need another one, okay?" I snap at him.
"You could have gotten hurt, you know?"
"I'm not a kid, okay? I can take care of myself." Hurt is written on Liam's face.
"You're so drunk."
"And I don't need you to remind me." I stand up from the chair and walk away. I enter the house again and sigh.
Why does he annoy me so much? I am an adult and I am capable enough to take care of myself. And he is not my father to boss me around.
I go back to the kitchen and when I was about to pour myself another drink, I put the cup back down. I hate to admit it. But he is right. I sigh and walk out of the kitchen. I go back to the living room and begin to dance. I clear my thoughts from before and just let myself enjoy. This time, I don't get on the table. But I still do take two more shots like before. I know, I said I won't but I want to.
A pair of strong hands wrap around my waist and Andy starts to grind against me. I smile. I turn around to see him but I move away. That's not Andy. It's a guy I never saw before. He is tall and muscular. He has black hair and brown eyes. A playful smirk is on his face and I try to move away from him. His hands hold my waist firmly, so I can't move. He starts to grind himself against me, again. I try to get away from him.
"Let me go." I whine and try to pry his hands off me.
"Never, baby." He whispers into my ear and a shiver runs up my body. I try to remove him from me like before.
"Let me go." I say sternly and push him away.
His face moves closer to mine and he is trying to kiss me. My neck gets a sloppery kiss from the guy. I make a fist and collide it with his left cheek with all my power. He lets me go. I am angry at the guy. He is holding his cheek and he looks at me.
His hand flies across my face and I fall to the floor. It's like it's all happening again. People gasp around me. My hand automatically flies to my cheek. Tears flow from the pain. I try to get up.
"You bitch!" He yells from above me. I am still holding my cheek in pain.
"Don't you dare touch her!" I hear another voice yell. With the corner of my eye, I see Liam hit the guy across the face. The guy stumbles back and loses his balance. "How dare you touch her?!" He yells at the guy, who is on the floor.
People are staring at me, Liam and the guy, who hit me. Liam helps me get up and guides me out of the house. We walk down to the street and down the sidewalk. A minute passes with Liam's hand just holding mine, while we walk in silence. Suddenly, he stops and turns to me. I sit on a bench, which is behind me and under a street light.
"Look at me." He says softly. I slowly lift my head and look into his eyes. There is worry in them. My cheeks are stained with tears and my make-up is probably smeared. All in all, I probably look like a raccoon. "It's red. But I don't think a bruise is going to form." His gentle fingers run over my cheek, examining it.
"It still hurts." I whisper.
"Don't worry, it'll pass." I nod and his hand moves away.
"Thank you. And I'm also sorry."
"It seems that we apologize ¾ of the time." I chuckle and so does he. "I just don't understand how could he hit you." He lightly shakes his head. "No man shouldn't do that to a girl." I know that to be true, but not everyone follows.
"What's done is done." I mutter and sigh.
"Come on. Let me drive you home." He stands up from the bench and I do too.
We get into his car after a 5 minute walk. And another 5 minutes pass before I am dropped home. Liam turns off the engine and I unfasten my seatbelt.
"Thank you, again." I smile at him.
"No problem, Darcy." I nod and open the car's door.
"Wait ..." He stops me before I can get out. I look over at him. "Do you want to go surfing with me tomorrow?"
"Like on a date?" I ask with my eyebrows raised.
"Only as friends." He says and I smile vaguely. Somehow, I was hoping it to be a date.
"Yeah, it would be great."
"I'll pick you up at 3 p.m." I nod and get out. Before I walk in, I wave at him. I unlock the door and get into the house.
Tonight has been quite exciting. It was very fun, except the part when I got hit. But I'll live. My cheek doesn't even hurt anymore.
I go up the stairs and to the bathroom. I shower once more and take off my makeup. I walk naked back to my room, after I'm done and put on fresh black lace underwear and a black muscle tank top. Next, I climb into bed with a sigh. I check my Instagram and scroll through it. I see another picture of the girl, whose picture I saw the other day. I stop scrolling.
She really looks happy in all the pictures I've seen. I miss her. I miss Lyla, my sister.
