The sun is shining bright, but not directly at me and the high temperature doesn't help. But the shade of many trees around me makes it bearable. I am walking through the park near my house, just enjoying this beautiful summer day.

I stop next to the pebbled path and cross my arms in front of my chest while looking at the playground and smiling at the kids there. I am not a stalker, just to be clear. But I love seeing the youngsters being happy and smiling. It makes my heart warm up at the thought that they are happy.

"Darcy?" An unknown voice calling my name brings me out of my little trance, and so I turn around and look over my shoulder. "Is it really you?" I freeze; my lips part in shock as my eyes land on the person walking towards me.

"Liam." I breathe out in barely a whisper.

I haven't seen him in years and frankly he doesn't look a lot different. You can see he is more mature but other than that, on the outside, he is the same. I can't believe my eyes. He is here, in front of me, after so many years. I thought I will never see him again, but I guess fate had other plans for me, and also for him.

"I can't believe it's you, Darcy." A smile is on his face as we briefly hug, me still being petrified. "It's been years." He genuinely looks happy and not at all broken how I have left him years ago.

A little less than a year after out parting, I somehow got over him. I rarely even thought of him, I got other priorities. There was no time for me to worry about past love. But I never forgot him. But now he's here. My first real love is standing in front of me and it's almost surreal.

"What are you doing here?" I ask after taking it all in, still quite gob smacked.

"I am on holiday, so I thought I should go to Miami. You know ... great waves to ride." I nod at his explanation. "Wow, you've changed, Darcy." He looks me up and down as I smile. "There is not a single black piece of clothing on you that I can see. What happened?" He teases and I giggle. "What have you been up to?"

"So many things changed, you can't even believe it." I exclaim.

"Like what?"

"The most amazing person came into my life and changed everything, changed me." I admit with a grin on my face.

"So, you've got a boyfriend?" I shake my head while a giggle escapes me.

"No, I don't have a boyfriend."

"A husband?" I shake my head once more and that's when I hear her call me.

"Mommy! Mommy!" Her little voice calls me and her little feet carry her to me.

"What is it, boo?" I lift her off the ground and fix some of her brown hair from her face. She was about to say something else, but her big brown eyes, much like mine, settle on Liam.

"Who is he, mommy?" She whispers into my ear and I giggle.

"Don't be shy, boo." I say to her. "This is Liam. He is an old friend of mommy's." I look at Liam and his eyes are wide and his eyebrows are raised. I know he didn't expect me to have a kid, which was maybe the last thing on his list to guess.

"Hello, Boo." Liam snaps out of his surprised state and waves.

"I am not Boo. I am Katie." I giggle at how adorable she is.

"Well, hello Katie." He smiles at her. "I am Liam. It's nice to meet you." Her shyness takes over and she hides her face in the crook of my neck.

"Mommy?"
