"So, what now?" Liam asks.
We've been in the ocean for an hour goofing off and swimming. It was really hard for me not to dive underwater. I don't want my makeup to drip down my face. And now we are just sitting on the shore in the sand.
The sun is already starting to set. Not a cloud can be seen in the sky. This time, the ocean is calm and the wind isn't blowing.
I lean my head on Liam's right shoulder with a sigh. I feel him tense up for I don't know what reason. But soon, he relaxes his body.
"I just want to stay here forever." I say quietly, just looking at the sunset in front of me. "It's so beautiful."
"Yeah, it really is." Liam says from above me.
There is silence after that. Until I speak up. "How often do you come here?" I lift my head up from his shoulder and look at him.
"It depends." He turns to me. "Usually, I come here, when it all gets too much and all I want to do is relax. And sometimes I come here just because I want to surf." I smile at his explanation.
I am looking into his eyes and he is looking into mine. I've never really noticed how blue his eyes are. They are light blue, just like the ocean. They draw me in. I see Liam is leaning towards my face slowly. My face is still and I don't know what to do. Panic rushes through me. Is he going to kiss me? I look towards the ocean to block him out. With the corner of my eye, I see he stopped leaning in.
"I think we should go." I say after a minute. "We're all dried up by now." I look at my lap.
"Yeah, let's go." Liam stands up quickly and dresses himself.
I also stand up and start to dress myself. Once, we are both dressed, we start to walk towards the car. When we arrive, we get in and drive off.
The entire ride is spent in silence. I don't even know what to say. And I am pretty sure, Liam doesn't either. I mean, he wanted to kiss me. At least I think he did.
I don't even notice, we are in front of my house, until Liam pokes my shoulder. I shake my head and get rid of my thoughts.
"I didn't even notice we arrived." I mumble and unfasten my seatbelt. I grab my stuff from the back seat and open the car door. "So, we'll see each other later?"
"Yeah." He says with no emotion in his voice. I close the door and wave to him before he drives off.
I let out a deep breath and close my eyes. Slowly, I walk up the steps and go into the house. Tina is watching TV in the living room and stuffing her face with popcorn.
"Hi." I say to her. She looks at me and smiles.
"Hi stranger." I chuckle at her.
"Get ready, boo. We're going to the dock with the others." I say to her.
"Okay." She turns off the TV and gets up from the couch.
We both get up the stairs and to our rooms. I have to shower, too. First, I take the clothes I'll wear out from the dresser along with clean underwear and bra. I head to the bathroom and shower the salt off me after undressing myself and taking off my makeup.
After I shower, I put the clean black lace panties on and the matching bra. I pull on the ripped jean shorts and the plain black hoodie, which is a little too big for me. Next, I do my usual makeup. But I put on the new lipstick I got today, instead of my old ones. And for the hair, I put it in a messy bun.
