Endellion
The razor sliced through the porcelain flesh and velvety blood seeped out, down my thighs and into the-now red-water. My Shaky hands pressed the object deeper into the rough, tattered skin.
This was a usual thing for me. I'd started cutting ever since I was 13. It gave me pleasure and solace. It numbed the pain and hid it away.
I harmed myself, not because I wanted to die- but because it cleared up my mind. It encouraged me to go on further in life.
My hands shook violently as my numb thighs gave in and sank into the water. I leaned my head back into the tub, letting the razor fall onto the bathroom floor.
Pain was my remedy and I believed that without pain there was no happiness. My happiness was forgetting everything and that was something only the spill of my own blood could achieve.
A knock sounded on the bathroom door and my best friend's soft voice spoke up, "Delly, it's almost breakfast time and I still haven't washed up! You've been in the bathroom for an hour now."
I took a deep breath, wincing at the slight burn I felt on my thighs as I moved to get up. "I'll be out in a bit, Ceci. Gimme a moment to finish washing my hair."
"You still haven't washed your hair?!" she laughed a bit, "oh Delly, what am I going to do with you."
"Love you too, babe." I told Ceci as I began speed-washing my hair.
Once I was done with that, I washed off the remaining blood on my legs and numbly squeezed my thighs to make sure there wasn't a drop left.
Cleaning the tub and razor, I put on my uniform- wearing the uniform pants instead of the skirt. Once I was done, I picked my toothbrush and put on some toothpaste as I unlocked the door to let my best friend in.
Luckily, Cecily and I shared a room together and didn't have a third party to share it with. Ceci was the only student in the school that I actually talked to openly. One of the reasons being because she was a very honest and kind person- she was the only one that understood my situation since, well, she'd gone through a lot as well.
Cecily was the light to my world. When I was lost in the darkness of my own shadow, she found me and approached me with a torch- lightening up my way and leading me through the anonymous destination of life.
"Finally!" she shouted gleefully, "I thought the day you would come out would never come!"
I smirked at her. "Come out? Who said I was into girls? I'm perfectly aware of my sexuality, Ceci." I teased, chuckling as her cheeks instantly turned red. I swear, that girl blushed at almost everything, it's like she was a living tomato in a human body, a cute tomato at that. I pinched her dimpled cheek with the hand that wasn't holding my toothbrush.
She swatted at my hand, "bad girl! Stop harassing me!" she whined, pouting adorably.
I began brushing my teeth, and mumbled, "I wouldn't call that harassing."
Ceci bit her lip, "perhaps not." She came over to stand next to me in front of the sink, flipping her head down and tying her hair into a messy bun.
Once she was done, she turned her head toward me so fast I thought she'd cracked her neck. She smiled brightly and had that look in her face, the look that she always had on when she remembered something good. "Oh, I forgot to tell you!"
