"Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light."-Helen Keller.

Mr. Edwards may have appeared to be nice and warm-hearted. But I wasn't seeing that at all. I saw right through his caring façade, the dipshit was full of shit. He didn't give a shit about the students' well-being, he wanted something else. And I was going to find out exactly what he wanted.
I'd noticed how clingy and chirpy he acted around Endellion, and even though I really did not give a shit about the girl, something about the way he was treating her screamed fake. He was using her to get something else. Something bigger.
And so I went to talk to Endellion Thursday night right after the dorm checkups.
We'd had Psychology class today and surely enough, Mr. Edwards was our teacher. We also had him for the daily group session, and believe me when I say that seeing him today for two hours was not pleasant.
Now, I wouldn't say he was dangerous. I knew danger when I saw it and although he did carry a shady vibe, he didn't look like he could do much.
I sighed at a rounded a corner, almost reaching Endellion's dorm room. My thoughts continued on racing in my mind as I walked.
My mind wandered towards the principal. It's almost been a week since our first arrival at this school and not once has any of us seen William Cage.
It was said that he was rarely seen around in the school, and that he had his own section alongside the school building. And that the only times he was seen in the school quarters was during school activities. Such as the book fair and talent show.
Which meant I was going to see him in less than a months period.
And I couldn't wait to see the bastard.
A part of me was dreadful, if I were to ever admit. I mean, he literally killed my home and destroyed any thoughts of living peacefully for the boys and me, and so many more people.
He'd destroyed my home, and I wanted revenge.
Saying that I would get it fairly would be an understatement.

I found myself standing in front of a shocked Endellion a few minutes later.
She had her blonde hair in a messy bun and her green eyes were dull. Her face was flushed red for some reason and she looked tired, worn out even.
Endellion was a very stubborn girl and I knew that I wouldn't be able to get any information out of her without having to use blackmailing.
And that was exactly what I was going to do.
She stayed silent the entire time, to my surprise. Let's be real here, that girl talked a lot. She didn't even question where I was taking her, she just followed mutely.
When we reached the garden outside, I sat down on a bench, and patted the seat next to me.
Once we were both sat down, I broke the silence.
"Tell me what you know about Joe Edwards." I said straightforwardly. I was never one to beat around the bush.
Her eyebrows shot up in disbelief, "why?"
"Just do it, Endellion," I growled. I was not going to tell her anything, even if it had to somehow do with her.
She chuckled humorlessly, if you honestly think that I'd tell you anything about anyone without being given a legitimate reason, then you are out of your mind." And with that she got up to leave.
"You're not leaving," I gritted out. She wanted to act like this, I'll act worse. "If you don't want everyone to know about your little secret, that is."
She turned to look sharply at me. "W-what secret? You can't do shit." I could see that she herself didn't trust her words.
I chuckled sinisterly, and whispered, "you know exactly what it is, and as for proof, your body is enough of one." She trembled. I could see her trying desperately to appear stronger than what she probably felt at the moment.
"You're disgusting," she spat. And I felt a weird emotion creep through me. Whatever it was, it didn't feel good at all.
"Don't I know it," I smirked, holding my ground. "So, speak up, girly."
Endellion looked at me with utter hatred. I almost wanted to take back my words, but I didn't. I knew I had to do this.
"There's nothing to know," she said after a moment of silence. I opened my to speak, but she continued on. "Joe is a nice guy and he's been there for me for as long as I remember. So whatever you are planning on doing to him, don't fucking do it. He's way too good to be forced into your shit." She cursed, looking at me hatefully.
I sighed, getting up at moving towards her with a glare, "you really are blind to what's around you. Open your eyes and then maybe you'll be able to see that life isn't all peachy, and neither are the people in it. Edwards' not a good person."
She laughed at me. "You know nothing about me, so stop acting like you do. I know how shitty life is and how disgusting the people in it can be. An example of that is standing in front of me." She looked up at me with a glare.
I stepped closer to her, my chin inches away from her hair. Looking down at her, I met her eyes. Blue on green. We both stared at each other with burned rage. "Watch what you say, Dylan." I purred, "wouldn't want the little pig to get caught by the hungry wolf, now would we?"
With that, I walked away. Leaving her standing there with a flabbergasted yet perplexed look on her face. I was satisfied, but not enough.
Weirdly enough, I found myself wanting more.
---
The next morning, which was Friday morning, we were all sitting in the cafeteria talking and interacting together. I had to yet tell the boys about Joe Edwards, but seeing how Cecily was sitting with us, I didn't say a thing.
Endellion didn't come. Cecily told us that she was tired and wanted to catch up on more sleep. But I doubted that was the entire truth. I bet she was just too scared to face me.
That thought must've amused me quite a bit because I looked up from my plate, which I was apparently grinning at, to see the delighted yet confused expressions of my friends.
Max laughed, "What's got you smiling like crazy man?"
Julie nodded and snorted, "he looks like a fucking maniac."
I threw a slice of bacon on him playfully. "shut up."
Cecily's laugh got our attention. She must've noticed us looking at her, because she blushed and mumbled a sorry.
Cobra surprised us all by speaking up, "don't apologize." He uttered, then looked down as soon as he caught her gaze.
She smiled so wide, I wondered if her mouth hurt.
The exchange confused me and the others a lot. We looked at each other with raised eyebrows but let it drop for now.
I made a mental note to tease Cobra about it later on. Even though I knew that it was nothing.
Cliffie broke the silence, "so we're given our jobs this Saturday, right Cecily?"
Cecily looked up at Cliffie and smiled. "Yep, let's hope you get fun jobs!"
We all groaned.

Short and uneventful chapter, I know.I am honestly just extremely tired and wrote half-heartedly. I can't seem to find the inspiration to do anything lately because of the exams' stress.
