Gabriel was still sleeping peacefully when I decided to listen to some music.

"Wanna join?" I asked Camila, handing her a headphone bud, she nodded, so I signed for her to shift to my side of the blanket and she was soon on the tiny space of the blanket beside me.

We couldn't move Gabe without disturbing him. He was in the middle of the blanket so we rearranged ourselves, staying together beside him.

She had a shy smile now that we were close and I felt a little nervous again, but still I couldn't quite figure out what was making me feel like that.

As soon as the music started I relaxed, but Camila was still staring at the device.

"Can I take a look at your music?"

I nodded, putting my phone in her hands and laid down again next to my son. From where I was, I could see her focused expression scrolling through probably more than a thousand songs.

She was biting her lower lip, but at the same time she was absentmindedly pushing and pulling it in between her teeth with a couple of fingers.

A big part of her hair fell onto one shoulder and one side of her face covering it, but she didn't seem to mind. I did mind though, it was stopping me from seeing minor details of her face.

That's when I suddenly realized, damn I was staring hard.

Her eyes shot down at me right on cue, as if she could have heard my last thought.

I looked away trying not to blush and trying not to ask myself why the hell I was blushing.

After a while, she gave me my phone back with a small, pleased smile on her face.

"There's stuff I've never heard of in there, but I love everything else." She paused for a second. "So, I'm really curious now on that first category."

"Uhm yeah, I listen to a lot of unknown artists and bands, the good stuff is always hidden and usually pretty far from the charts for whatever reason."

She nodded in agreement and laid down beside me, I turned to look in her direction, but her eyes were closed so I quickly turned back to look up, I knew she could feel my movements as close as she was and I had already had my fair amount of creep moments that day for me to start staring at her again.

I was dozing off when I perceived my son's weight, he was rolling on top of me as he sometimes did in the middle of the night ever since when he was little.

I opened my eyes to check on him and found him awake.

He was actually toying with Camila's hair, who was still lying with her shoulder against mine and the music on. The girl's eyelids lazily opened, showing her big brown eyes and soon her lips drew a half-asleep smile when she noticed the kid awake beside her.

We slowly sat up and for a while nobody was talking, we all just looked around and enjoyed the peace we found ourselves in.

My child was the first one to break the silence, but still, his tone was low and raspy, a distinctive mark of the nap had just taken.

"Can I go throw some rocks in the lake mom?"

I nodded, still not able to talk, looking at the shore and the little pier not far from us.

He got up and stretched, getting rid of the blanket I put on him when he fell asleep.

I was looking at him getting more and more involved with his game when he turned to look at us.

"Camz!" He shouted, I looked at the girl beside me that smiled at my child and his new nickname for her.

"Come and play with me! Mom's gonna need some time to get up anyway." He added.
