A week had gone and all the kids were back to school.

"My love, Gabe texted and said he's gonna come over for dinner." I heard my wife's voice from the other room.

"Why is he always texting you?"

I pouted as she reached me in the kitchen, she smiled and poked at my side.

"Where is your phone?"

I looked around me and I tried to focus on where I could have left it, she crinkled her nose and kissed my cheek before whispering: "That's why."

I kept an eye on my children that got home all with the same bus from school as I was laying the table.

I smiled when Danny came up to me without thinking and hugged me, he was huge, when did my nugget become a strong teenager?

I chuckled when Nate crushed me from the other side, I loved how they grew affectionate and never really stopped being my cuddly kids.

"How was school guys?"

"It was okay," Danny mumbled before letting go of me.

"Same," Nate added before bumping lightly his head against mine.

"Go wash your hands then, dinner's almost ready."

As soon as they disappeared two thinner arms clung around my neck.

"Hey honey, how was school?"

I stroked my daughter's back as she just grunted something making me chuckle.

"That's my girl," I said kissing her head while she loosened her hold on me to go wash her hands too.

Camila brought a big pot of pasta to the table as the kids were nowhere to be found, as every time they suspected we could ask for their help.

When the bell rang I saw my wife's eyes shining knowingly.

She went to open the door for our firstborn and literally jumped in his arms, his green eyes lit up immediately and I shook my head lightly looking at how he picked her up.

"Hi momma," he said to her and kissed her cheek before coming to say hi to me too, with her still in his arms.

I had to step up on the tips of my toes to kiss his cheek.

"Hey mami."

"Gabe!" Angelica's voice was heard before she appeared "..where's dessert?" The girl looked at his empty hands in confusion.

Gabe let go of Camila rolling his eyes, "nice to see you too sis!"

She shrugged and send him an air kiss with a bit of sarcasm.

We were all at the table and for me it was endearing enough to see the four of my creatures all in the same place, laughing and enjoying each other's company.

The atmosphere was so light, at some point Camila even ended up sitting on Gabe's lap, I knew how much she missed him, it took her quite some time to re-adapt when he left to go live on his own.

Not that it was easy for me, but Camila seemed to be more fragile about it, the love we both had for our children was something bigger than anything I could have ever imagined before actually experiencing it.

I observed how he held her and thought of when they started knowing each other and my four-year-old all cuddled up in her lap in the exact same way she was ending up in that very moment.

I grabbed my phone, that for once was nearby, and snapped a picture of them, almost sure that if I sought really good in my folders I could find a similar one with them in the opposite positions.
