During the next few weeks my relationship with Camila only grew exponentially, at some point we even decided it was okay for her to spend time alone with Gabe, not that their bond needed to be strengthened but it was still convenient for everybody.

It all started one night when Dinah was out and I forgot to pick up some things from the store but it was almost bedtime for Gabe and Camila was still with us so we decided that I could go and leave them home.

When I came back that night Gabe was asleep in his bed and Camila was right beside him, curled up with her hand on his back and I couldn't tell if she was asleep too but she didn't seem uncomfortable at all. They both looked tiny in the twin bed.

I decided to let them be and went to put the groceries away and study as much as I could at that time of day.

That was the first night Camila slept at my place after the lake incident, and it was one of the few nights Gabe didn't sneak into my bed at any point throughout the night.

I felt alone without Gabe though and went to check on them a lot more than I should have.

That's when I caught on to Gabe sleeping with his whole body on Camila's and her arms clung around him, I couldn't help myself but snap a picture of the two sleeping beauties.

From that night on, it happened more and more, them being alone, for example, if I had to study and Camila was done, they went to play at the park a couple of times, even if the winter was definitely coming, I couldn't restrict my child to our domestic walls.

I surprised myself when I realized just how calm I was about letting them go out together, I seriously trusted Camila with the most valuable thing in my life, my son.

But things don't always go as planned.

I always preferred to leave Gabe with Dinah when I had to work, that way I had the apartment to myself to get ready and I had no explanations to give about what I had to do or why.

But Dinah was MIA and I couldn't really postpone the task any longer, I texted Camila asking her if she could stay with Gabe that afternoon as I had some things to take care of.

She obviously said yes immediately, and that's when I ran to take all the stuff I needed to the car as to not give her any reasons to question me.

When she got to my place I was mostly nervous, I wasn't used to lying straight to her face about what I was going to do.

She kissed my lips as soon as I opened the door and I tried to relax and look the least bit suspicious as possible, but something was still off, I didn't want that to become a habit, calling her to watch my son while I secretly did my job, it was the worst thing I could do to her.

I hugged her close to me and my entire body went hyper-sensitive as soon as her mouth made contact with my neck. She was so amazing to me and there was nothing that I craved more than her touch.

We still had no way to deepen our relationship in that particular field, but I was more at ease day after day with her, we only needed the right time.

I enjoyed her and Gabe's company for as long as I could before leaving, hoping to be able to get back soon, with no questions on what I had been doing, I didn't know if I could have lied that way, omitting and lying were two very different things.

When I parked in the designated area I noticed that it wasn't the usual mansion or house, but a sort of shed, I tried to not overthink it, it wasn't the first unusual place I had to deliver to that I had come across throughout the years, but just to be sure I slipped the usual box cutter into my boot and the gun into the waistband of my jeans.
