"Laur."

I rolled in bed groaning.

"Laur!" Camila's low voice woke me up.

I picked up my phone to look at the time.

4:36

"What?" I grogged.

"It's time."

"It's the middle of the night..."

"Babe, I really-- uhg-- hospital."

I jumped up and out of bed immediately.

Camila was in her thirty-seventh week and we knew the twins could decide to be born every moment then, but I didn't realize until that moment how real that was.

I grabbed her hospital bag and my phone to call Dinah.

"Camz, did your water break?" I asked, panic taking me.

"That was four hours ago babe, I just woke you now cause the contractions-- yeah, they are getting closer."

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.

Dinah was at our place in less than ten minutes, that was the time for me and Camila to finish getting ready and get to the car.

My boys were on the way.

I was about to become a mother of three.

"If you take another speed bump that fast I'll have them both right here Laur."

My eyes widened comically as I immediately pushed on the brake.

"God, even I would drive better and I'm in labor."

Even between shocks of pain Camila managed to crack bad jokes.

She was so visibly thrilled.

I parked at the private parking lot of the clinic and grabbed all of her stuff before taking hold of her hand.

That's when I sort of relaxed, we were at the place where they could take care of her and the twins.

I helped Camila to get on a wheelchair and a nurse accompanied us to our room.

As soon as Camila was undressed and on the bed I felt it hitting me, our boys were actually on the way.

Apparently Camila had contacted her doctor before waking me up, so we found the woman ready to check up my girl.

"You're definitely ready for the epidural..." She said and I could hear a feeble "Thank God." slipping from Camila's lips.

She was handling the pain way too well.

Or so I thought.

I held her hand during the whole process and I could see her relax as soon as the drug started making its effect.

I had to confess that seeing the big needle in her back made me way more anxious than when I had to go through the same process, five years and a half before, at my time the pain made me forget all about the needle that seemed nothing more than a big savior.

After half an hour I could see Camila's face writhe in pain almost every two minutes and God I found out how strong she was, my hand almost falling off every time she squeezed it in pain.

"I'm too tired Lo, I wanna go back to sleep, or just push, yeah, I wanna push them out." She almost cried after the umpteenth contraction.

"You're doing well." The doctor said, "The dilatation is good, just one more centimeter and you can start pushing, hold on a little more."
