"Bebé, the principal called, there's been trouble at school, we need to go."

I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Nate or Danny?" I asked grabbing my coat.

"All three of them."

-

I sat in the principal's office.

All three of my teenage children were sitting on a couch beside me and Camila, the principal in front of us behind his desk.

"They were involved in a fight."

I was confused, I looked at them and noticed my daughter's lip was swollen, same for one of Danny's cheekbones.

"Against each other?" I asked.

My first thought was Sadie, was it possible that Danny found out about her and Angie and they got physical because of it?

"Oh, no, against most of the football team, and a few cheerleaders actually."

"So it was the three of them against like ten people?" Camila thought out loud.

"Yes, ma'am."

I looked at them again, their eyes stuck on the floor, part of me was slightly proud, if the three of them were on the same side and kept up against those many students first off they needed to have a pretty valid reason, and second of all, they were tough.

"Did somebody get seriously hurt?" Camila asked with worry.

"There's this one guy, he's in the nurse office, nothing too serious, but we can't just let this go, there are going to be consequences."

"I understand..." I said, "but what is the reason for the fight?"

The man looked at my kids and shrugged.

"They refuse to tell us, but it's clear the three of them started the fight."

I sighed and turned my chair to look directly at the people that I choose to put on the planet.

"What happened guys?" I tried softly, I didn't really care about them getting into the fight as much as what could have upset them so much to cause that reaction in the first place.

Angelica sighed and kept looking at the floor, not a muscle moved.

The boys were more nervous, Nate's leg bounced while Daniel shook his head lightly.

"Cheerleaders were involved you said?" I looked back at the principal for a split second to see him nod.

"Is Sadie fine?" I whispered and Angie's jaw clenched.

"Not involved." Danny mumbled and I heard Camila sigh in relief.

"Who raised hands first?" I asked not exactly expecting an answer, but when Angie closed her eyes and the boys seemed to instinctively look in her direction I knew.

"Baby..." I got closer to my daughter and grabbed her hands, I passed my thumbs against her swollen knuckles, I couldn't help but think about my past for a moment, she had my attitude.

"Can I just know about my punishment and go home?" her voice broke and as soon as her teary eyes bounced between me and Camila, my wife got up and hugged her.

"Ouch," she chuckled hugging Camila back, holding onto her like her life depended on it.

"Can we know what the consequences will be for them?" I asked the principal.

"They are all suspended for the rest of the week."

I clenched my jaw and looked at them, Nathan nodded while Danny passed both hands in his hair, before mumbling "Those bastards."
