In A New Light

Natsu and Lucy walked into Makarov's office with smiles plastered to their faces. Natsu didn't know why but he couldn't stop grinning. Makarov opened his eyes for a split second and looked at Natsu. He gave a faint smile before closing his round black eyes once more. Lucy looked at Laxus. He was looking out the window. She wished she could tell what he was thinking. 

"Natsu....... I know that you punched Laxus- Which he deserved- but that is still against school policies. I can't simply allow you to punch Laxus like that."   

"He dumped milk on my head! Who in the world would just stand there and let it happen?!" 

"...........She does have a point." Makarov sat there pondering. The silence was broken by his enraged grandchild. 

"Who cares?! That little brat still punched me! Look! He might of broken my jaw! Who's this kid to act like the rules mean nothin'. Like he has any right to punch someone in the face and be called innocent." 

"You're right." Laxus and Lucy looked at Natsu in surprise. He shrugged. 

"...............?!" 

"You're right....... I have no right to walk around like I'm innocent........... I did punch you......... And I would gladly do it again and much worse." He slipped Laxus a threatening glance. 

"..........Was that a threat?!" 

"You could say that......... That is if I was stupid enough to do it." 

"Are you mocking me?!" 

"Hard to say. You are doing a great job at making a fool out of yourself without my help." 

"THAT'S IT! YOU LITTLE PUNK!!!!!!" Laxus got up and towered over Natsu. Makarov opened his eyes and sighed. He didn't make any attempt to stop the fight. 

"Oh yeah?!" The old Natsu would have beat up Laxus then and there but......... Lucy was there. He couldn't let this fight get too serious. 

"Natsu........... I don't think-" Lucy was interrupted by Laxus growling at Natsu. He made the first move. He went to hit Natsu straight in the face. Natsu easily dodged. As  Natsu dodged Laxus' fist he caught a glimpse at Laxus' blue eyes. They showed both sadness and rage. They both had something in common. At that very moment, Natsu had a choice. He could either beat the crap out of this idiot right then or he could just as easily stop the fight. Laxus' fist made its way towards Natsu's face once more but this time Natsu grabbed it and pushed Laxus to the ground. Laxus looked up at his pink headed rival. 

"Look................... I know............ I know why you're doing this- I know............ But if there's anything I've learned in this life......... Is that just because you're hurting doesn't mean others should.." 

"........................." Laxus' eyes began to water. He looked away, ashamed. 

"Come on." Natsu offered his hand to the blonde. Laxus hesitantly took Natsu's hand. He smiled. 

"........Thanks, you pink headed moron." 

"That's your opinion. Be careful with opinions." Natsu winked at him. Makarov and Lucy smiled at each other. Laxus turned to Lucy. 

"Look......... I'm sorry............Sigh." 

"Okay, now that that's settled....... Laxus. Your punishment is to join Natsu's club. Every Saturday 12:00-3:00." 

"W-What?!!!" Natsu asked a little too surprised. Laxus? Join their club?........... Now that he thought about it.......... He looked at the blond senior. His jaw was wide open. He didn't seem that upset about it.
