I could hear the steady roar of music a block away as I walked to Brian's fraternity. It was another dreadful night filled with beer pong and drunken college students piled into one small frat house.
A girl in a skimpy top and even shorter shorts strutted past me with a pack of Bud Light in her hands and a pair of giggly girls on each side of her.
I looked at my outfit which was a pair of high wasted shorts and a striped crop top and realized I was a prude compared to her.
Each step I tried to make into an eternity, so I could be late to the party. Ultimately, only 5 short minutes later, I was staring at the house with bright lights and silhouettes of people crowded inside.
I sighed and walked up to the door struggling to push my top down, as it slightly showed the upper part of my stomach. Two girls behind me started giggling and I turned around and glared at them. Their eyes widened as they realized who I was.
"You're Brian's girl, right?" said the girl who had her hair and contour overly done. It almost looked as if she had rolled in some mud before she came here.
I held my hand over my mouth to keep from laughing at her appearance as I nodded.
"You're one lucky girl," she muttered and flipped her long beach blonde hair as she began to walk inside.
I entered into the abyss of people and scoured around the house for Brian. I tried my best to dodge people left and right as they held overflowing red solo cups of cheap beer.
I glanced around the room and saw Brian in the kitchen playing beer pong with his other frat brothers. I darted over to where he was, but crashed into a guy spilling his beer all over his nice expensive polo.
"I am so sorry, this is totally my fault," I began.
He cut me off by saying, "Yeah this is your fault, watch where you're going loser."
I sighed with relief as I looked over at Brian, fist clinched, making his way to the center of the living room where I was. His face was becoming beet red as he faced up next to the other guy.
"Excuse me? I just heard you called my girl a loser," Brian shouted with his fist held up in the air, ready to throw the first punch.
The polo guy stepped back with his hands in the air saying, "Woah man, I'm sorry I didn't realize this was your girl."
His eyes were darting between Brian and me as he slowly walked away, out into the sea of people.
I looked at Brian and smiled as he gave me a peck on the lips, held my hand, and lead me to the kitchen as if nothing had happened.
A few hours later, I still aimlessly watched Brian as he perfectly threw his ball into the red cup.
"Drink up man," He hollered.
I scoured the room with my eyes searching to see the people who were there. Ultimately, the only person I was looking for was Alex. I know he said he hated parties but I was secretly hoping he would show up.
"Hey babe," Brian drunkenly said putting his hand over my shoulder, "do you want to play?"
His other arm extended showing me the yellow stained ping pong ball.
I always hated it when he got this drunk at parties. He always seemed to drink more when he would have to fight off people being mean to me. It wasn't that I couldn't handle myself, it's just that Brian had that magic touch of making people respect me. Or so I thought.
