Chapter 2

It was early morning when I woke up. I looked at the time and I had just enough time to shower and eat before I had to walk to my only class for the day. I still don't know why I decide to take a damn class at 8am considering I had to walk more than 30mins to get there. Not having a car sucked and not having enough money to live on campus was even worse.

Cursing to myself mentally about how next year I wasn't going to take such early classes I go to stand up but I instantly fall back down on my bed from a sharp pain on my side. "What the hell?" I hiss in pain as I lift my shirt and see the huge bruise that has taken up half my body. I walk over to my mirror to get a better look and I noticed my face was also bruised along with my arms. Everything was a deep discolored purple except for my face which was a slightly lighter color, and that's when the memories of last night come flooding back.

As soon as my father is close enough to me he lands a hard punch on my face causing me to stumble backwards looking for something to grab onto. I knew if I fell I had no chance against him so I forced myself to stand and face him. I wiped the blood from my face and stare him down, I wasn't backing down so easily this time.

The next swing my father sends my way I block it with my arms, if anything I would protect my face. I couldn't cover those bruises up as easy as the others I knew I would receive tonight. "Oh Ri you know if you fight back it'll only be worse for you." My father slurs as he laughs to himself and steps closer to me.

The next moment he's hovering over me and punches me square in my gut sending me back into the wall with a loud thud. "Fuck." I groan in pain as I pull myself up but before I can regain my surroundings I'm hit again but this time he kicks me in my side. I topple over onto the floor and start to receive multiple blows from his fist and feet.

The last thing I remember before everything goes dark is dragging myself to my room and locking my door.

After what seems like forever I manage to cover up my bruised body as good as I could. I rummaged through my closet until I had found a sweater that wouldn't cling to my tiny body then I pulled sweats on right after. I needed something that was comfortable so I could at least act like I wasn't in a ton of pain. I threw on some make up to try and cover my bruised face as well. Hoping everything was covered good enough and making sure my father was no where in sight I started my walk to class.

A/N: sorry if the chapters seem a little short right now. I plan on making them longer next time. Please leave some comments if you would (:
