Trust { Niall Horan }

Chapter 5

It was still dark out when I left the apartment, the sky was light purple with a mix of something it seemed like. It was chilly out as well, I made a mental note to wear a jacket to class. The streets were completely empty and there was a strange silence that had taken over.

I put my headphones in and started my music as I began to run. I didn't really have a destination in mind, I just knew I was too angry at Jase to be home at the moment. He was only trying to help but he didn't understand everything that had happened.

My own mum caused my father to disown me all because she was the one who cheated. I had to live with that for the rest of my life. My father would never see how much I've accomplished so far, he'd never meet the girl I'd end up marrying. Never see his grandkids and this was all because of my mum. I hated her.

Before I knew it I had to head back to shower and get ready for class. Shaking my head to clear my thoughts I start to run home but halfway home I see someone and stop dead in my tracks. It was Riley.

The tiny girl was standing at the edge of the woods looking around. What was she doing out here so early? I knew I had an 8am class with her today and it was only 6:30am. "I've still got plenty of time to get shower before I have to go." I say to myself as I jog over to her.

When I'm close enough to her for her to hear me I call out to her, "Hey Riley!" I say this slightly louder than I had intended. I scold myself for it when I notice her jump and fear take over her but when she sees its me I watch her relax slowly.

Riley walks over to me and looks up at me shyly before she speaks, or at least try to. "Hi..uh..Ni.." She doesn't even finish my name before she goes quite looking at the ground now. I chuckle softly to myself, "Niall." I finish for her giving her a gentle smile when she decides to look up again returning a small smile to me.

When she did this I noticed the outfit she had on was kinda cute. Riley had on a pair of black shoes with black leggings that was accompanied by a baggy grey shirt, a black scarf and a black jacket. It went well with her long brown hair and her bright green eyes. Damn she looked beautiful.

After a few minutes of talking to her and not getting an replies she blurts out, "I'm sorry but if I don't leave now I'll never make it to class on time." And with that she turns and starts to walk off. What the hell? "Hey wait!" I call out to her as I catch up to her, "please tell me you're not walking to school." She doesn't look at me when I ask this and that's all I need for an answer.

"Well I can't just let you walk all the way there. It's 20 minutes by car by its self." I say sighing and shaking my head. Riley doesn't answer me though and just stares at me, "Ri, I promise I'm not like those idiots from yesterday." I say pleading with her. I knew I hardly knew her but I just couldn't let her go.

Riley nods and walks over to me, following close by me as I take her back to my place. "Alright..but this is a one time thing only." She says to me softly, I nod smiling at her. We soon reach my apartment, thankfully it was only on the second floor.

Opening the door I yell out to Jase to let him know I'm back, "Yo ass wipe I'm back!" Jase and I had decided to get a place together just so I could get out of my house. Thankfully we had good paying jobs and could afford a decent place.

Just as I'm about to explain to Riley that we live together Jase comes running in and jumps on me causing us to topple over falling onto the ground. "Finally! I thought you were still pissed at me." He says laughing slightly causing me to laugh as well.

Riley shrieks out in fear at the sudden action causing Jase to quickly get off of me and look directly at her. "Sorry Riley I forgot to tell you that Jase lives here also." I say this as I stand up walking over to her to make sure she's okay and I notice she's shaking slightly. What the hell has this girl been through that's made her so scared of people?
