The Dun Household

It all happened quickly, yet slowly. When it was happening, when Josh and Tyler were caught up between the mess, everything went in slow motion. They had entered Gerard's house, and as soon as they did, the door was slammed shut, they were absorbed into a deep darkness, and Tyler was being slammed against a wall. Josh screamed, followed by several others, and that's when Josh found his friends. He couldn't see them well in the darkness, but he had found them. And it was just in time. Tyler was yelling at them to run, to leave the house immediately before he gets them, but for some reason, despite how frightened they were, they refused.

Frank went to get candles while Josh stayed with the rest, but Frank never came back with the candles, and Gerard was a mess. They were all a mess. Josh called out for him in the darkness, but no reply. He felt like vomiting. There was something moving in the darkness, and Josh couldn't hear Tyler's voice anymore. All he could hear was his heart pounding in his ears, and his and the rests' heavy breathing. Josh could see the shadow moving rapidly, and following it were two glowing red dots. The lights didn't work, the sun had already set, and they were utterly fucked.

Josh tried his best to calm his friends down, and just when it was working, something was trying to lure Brendon into the darkness. Josh screamed after him, Ryan was crying, the rest were shaking in fear and silent with shock, and Brendon was gone. The rest was all a huge blur. Except for Tyler. He could remember every single detail. He'd managed to bring them to Josh's home—his old home—and luckily for him, no one was in the house.

Now, as he sits next to Josh's bed, with his head clutched in his head, he thought of how stupid he was to not have notice it sooner. Blurry had manifested himself. He had deserted Tyler to look for a new soul. To look for Josh. He was pure light that Blurry could feast on. The thought made Tyler want to hurl. No one could hurt Josh. No one. But Blurry already did, and it hurts him, because that's what he mostly wanted to avoid.

For a moment, Tyler thinks it's best to leave. To leave Josh alone and never come back. To continue dwelling around lost, because he belonged in neither Heaven nor Hell. God doesn't want a demon, and the Devil doesn't want a saint. He's stuck in between, and maybe he deserves it.

Josh starts stirring in bed, groaning. He turns onto his sides, facing Tyler, and opens his eyes slowly, groggily. "Ty?" he says in a soft voice, so soft that it's soothing and calming, it calms Tyler down. Tyler manages a small smile. "Hey, Josh..." Josh stares at him for a moment, but then his eyes grow wide, and he sits up quickly, his breathing becoming ragged. "Tyler, where's Frank? And Brendon? And Ryan, Gerard, Pete, and Patrick? Where are they? Are they—" Tyler puts his hands on Josh's shoulders and shakes his head. "No, they're not dead. Don't worry. They're all alright, but still unconscious," he explained, earning a sigh of relief from Josh. "Oh, thank God," he said, putting a hand on his chest, over his heart. Tyler smiled at Josh, glad that he was okay and awake. He almost thought he wouldn't wake up.

"I just dragged them into this, didn't I?" Josh asks, lying back down, and staring up at the ceiling. Tyler lets out a chuckle and nods. "Yeah...But, hey, at least now we'll have more people to help." Josh nods, a small smile making its way onto his pink lips. He doesn't look as pale as before, there was some color in his face, and he looked a lot healthier. He really needed to rest, though. "Yeah, I guess...I just didn't want to drag them into this. But they'll be of some help, I know so."

Silence surrounds them, but it's not awkward, it's calm. It's as if it were necessary. It gives them a sort of small space for them to be absorbed into their thoughts, and just reflect on the past night's events. But the silence is soon broken when Brendon walks into the room and says, "Yo, I don't know what the fuck happened, but I swear to God, I almost died." Josh can't help but laugh at this while Tyler only rolls his eyes and chuckles. "I'm also starving," Brendon states, sighing exasperatedly. "By the way, everyone's starting to wake up."

"Alright...Thanks, Brendon."

"No problem. Also, who's that dude?" he asks with a raised eyebrow and pointing at Tyler with his index finger. "I'll explain it to you and the rest later," Josh replies with a sigh, getting out of his bed, and following Brendon out the door, and downstairs. Tyler follows behind. When they get downstairs, everyone's awake and in the kitchen. Ryan practically kills Brendon when he sees him. He jumps onto Brendon, while Brendon chuckles and wraps his arms around the now crying Ryan. Josh can't help but smile at the sight, those two are just too cute, despite what had happened the night before.

Pete, Patrick, and Gerard are sitting down on the barstools in front of the counter, all of them with disheveled hair. Frank is leaning against the counter, his elbows on the countertop, and his head resting in the palms of his hands. They are all surrounded by silence for a while after letting out their sighs of relief, seeing that everyones here and alive. Josh starts taking things out of the fridge to make some breakfast, because besides only being able to make a bowl of cereal, he can at least makes some breakfast for his friends. Well, he could try. "Josh, what are you doing?" he hears Pete asks, and notices that he's standing up. "You can't cook. Here, leave it to me," Pete says, going past the counter and into the kitchen, and pushing Josh out. Josh laughs as he's doing so, his hands raised up in defense. "Alright, alright. Go ahead."

"Yeah, the least thing we need is for you to set the house on fire." Pete earns some laughs from his group of friends, an embarrassed Josh, and even Tyler. No one questions his presence, yet, which is quite some relief for Josh. He wants to wait until they're all at some ease. When Pete was done making breakfast for all of them, they all sit (well, the ones who can sit down) in silence, eating. Yet again, it's not an awkward one, it's a necessary one.

When they're all done and at ease, Josh takes a deep breath. "Alright...I need to explain something to you guys..." he starts, immediately earning everyone's looks of curiosity and slight impatience. This was going to be a very long morning.
