Maya stood there in a field of green. Colorful tulips decorated the field. She looked up at the clear blue sky, to watch the final gray cloud disappear, revealing the blinding sun. A warm sensation of heat washed through her body, clearing out any negative thoughts. The heat flowed through Maya's spirit and soul as if a gentle stream moved through a river. Without thinking, she raised her arm and wiped a line of sweat with the back of her warm hand. After a nice walk in the field she walked back home. The sensational wind blowing on her face.
When Maya got home and into the front room she saw her mum sitting on the plush sofa with Harris's mum. 'Hello', Harris's mum said to Maya. Maya smiled back in reply to greet back.
'Here you are.' Maya's mum said thoughtfully. She scratched her head softly.
'Natasha came over before when you weren't here. She said to call her.' Maya took a deep breath. She wasn't in the mood of meeting anyone. 'Okay. I'll call her.' Maya groaned. With that she stomped upstairs.
Maya was in her bedroom clearing up the mess and chaos. She picked up her clothes that were lying on her bedroom floor and was about to put them away when she heard some soft crying noises. She stood still for a while trying to concentrate on where the crying noises were coming from and then she finally realized that it was coming from downstairs. She hurled her clothes back on the floor and walked out of her room and on to the stairs trying to listen to the conversation.
'I really miss him', Harris's mum sobbed. There was a long pause. 'I really do.' Who was Harris's mother talking about? Maya thought to herself. 'He was a very nice and loving person. I had loved him all my love and I still do now!' Harris's mother blurted. 'He didn't have anything before he married me. No job, no money, no nothing... Just lots of love.' There was a long pause that never seemed to end. 'Now he is in Manhattan and he has such a huge business in diamonds. It's called H.M. Diamonds. It's named after Harris of course. He loved his son though he had left him.' She had just finished her story about her husband leaving her. Maya felt sympathetic towards her and Harris. She thought of how Harris could have lived his entire life without his father. 'I'm so sorry.' Maya's mum whimpered. 'Harris always asks if he could see his father but I never allow him to.' Harris's mum blubbered. 'I want him to know his father and I also don't at the same time.' She sat there weeping and wailing.
The next day Maya thought very carefully about Harris's mother's words. 'Harris always asks if he could see his father but I never allow him to.' Maya repeated to herself. Harris wants to see his father she thought. Without thinking Maya grabbed her phone and ringed Harris. 'Hello?' A tired and loneliness voice came from the other end.
'Hi', Maya replied sheepishly. 'Be ready for twelve o'clock.'
'Why?' 'Surprise! Wear something semi formal.'
'What does that mean?' Harris asked stupidly.
'Urghhh.... It means to dress up but not too much.'
'Huh? Why?'
'Oh for god's sake. Shut up!' And with that Maya ended the conversation.
She went straight on her laptop and started to search up Harris's father's business; H.M. Diamonds. Maya had heard the name of this company many times before. She searched lots of information about this business. It said that the owner of this company was called Mustafa Mirza. It reminded of Maya of her father. For the rest of the time Maya was sat on her bed looking pictures of her father. Tears pricked her eyes and she cried. How she had missed her father.
When it was twelve o'clock Maya was standing out of his house with her white mini cooper. A few minutes later Harris walked out of the house. He was wearing a black shirt with a grey tie and matching blazer. His shirt was tucked into his black trousers and he paired his outfit with some formal, polished grey shoes. His hair was styled well with hair wax. Maya breathed in sensationally when she looked at him. He looked immaculately smart.
Harris was getting closer to Maya. She smelt his strong perfume smell. It was the 007 perfume. She knew it straight away. She had brought exactly the same one for her father on his last birthday. 'Hey.' Harris beamed. 'How do I look? Semi formal?' He asked laughingly. 'Wait.' Maya said. She stepped closer to Harris and smiled. She walked behind him and pulled his blazer off slowly. There was silence. She put his blazer on top of the car. She smoothly turned in front of Harris. She put her hand on her chin and looked at Harris up and down. She stepped in a bit more closer and loosened his grey tie. Then she grabbed it and pulled it off his head. Slowly she unbuttoned his top button and shyly looked away. She was blushing hardly. 'Is it better now?' Harris questioned gently, smirking. Maya turned around shyly and bit her lip. 'Ermm... yes.' She admitted. Harris grinned at Maya and looked at her up and down. She was wearing a plain, black skater dress that just fell above her knees. Her slender arms were exposed because the dress was sleeveless. She paired this attire with black heels and a black handbag. Maya had filled her beautiful lips with a deep red lipstick and kept the rest of her makeup neutral. Her hair was put up in a high ponytail. 'You're looking gorgeous.' Harris praised. Maya blushed. He walked over to her and pulled her hair out off the ponytail. Her hair swayed and bounced as it reached her shoulders. 'There. Even better.' Harris exclaimed. 'Thanks', Maya giggled. 'Should we go now?' Harris agreed and sat in the car and Maya drove it.
'Where are we even going dressed up like this?' Harris asked confusingly. 'I've got a job interview.' Maya lied. 'Oh, wow! But why am I coming?'
'Because I've told a small, teeny weenie lie.' Maya confessed. 'And what's that?' Harris questioned. 'Well... To get the job you needed to be married so I lied and said we were.'
'Are you mad?' Harris screamed. 'Not saying that I would mind or anything. But still...'
'Oh stop it. It's only for now.' Maya claimed. There was awkward silence that never seemed to end. Harris leaned forward and changed the music radio to an Asian radio. A slow, sad song came on. Suddenly, memories flooded Maya's head and tears fell down her check. She quickly stopped the car and started to take big breaths. 'Are you okay?' Harris said caringly, not knowing what happened. 'Hmm...' She managed to utter. She moved her hand over the close button and turned off the radio. She wiped the tears off her face. 'Sorry. It was my dad's favorite song and whenever it comes on I always end up crying and remembering him.' Harris paused not knowing what to do patted her back gently and gave her a warm comforting smile. 'That's ok. It's my favourite song too.'
