Dark, grey clouds covered the entire sky. It was cold outside. People outside were wearing their, big warm coats. At times rain spluttered on to the rooftop as Maya sat in her bedroom still depressed. The day was gloomy just like Harris and the tears dropped just like Natasha's tears.

It was college today and Maya forcefully had to drag herself to school. She didn't want to face anyone and neither did anyone else want to face her. In lessons Maya sat in the front of the classroom whilst Natasha sat at the back with Harris. Tears continuously poured down Maya's cheek whilst she was writing her essay. The ink had blurred on her paper with her tears. During the day Natasha and Harris stayed together whilst Maya sat alone in the corner of the library covering her face with a huge book. When Maya was walking to lessons she looked down and tried not to make any eye contact with anyone. She didn't look up and walked quickly, not knowing she bumped into Natasha. They both looked at each other and saw that the both of them had tears dribbling down their cheeks. Natasha took a step back, put her hand on her face and walked away. Harris stared at the both of them not knowing what had happened. He was walking towards Maya. When she saw him she turned around and quickly started to walk the opposite direction. Harris was heartbroken. Does Maya hate him?

At lunch Natasha and Harris were sat together eating. 'What happened between you and Maya?' Natasha remained silent and didn't say anything. 'Tell me. I want to know!' Harris demanded.

'None of your business', She replied rudely. Harris looked at the ceiling. Tears blurred his eyes. Why was all this happening all in one go?

'I saw Maya and her boyfriend.'

'What?' Natasha said shocked. Did Maya really have a boyfriend that Natasha was unaware about?

'I saw her hug him yesterday. Some next gangster type', Harris said laughing away his tears sadly. The two of them sat there in silence thinking of Maya and her boyfriend.

After college Harris spot Maya walking home. He remembered what his mother had said to him. He had to win over her heart. He ran behind her and caught up to her. He stood on her left hand side. 'Hey!' He greeted her with a fake smile that was covering his broken heart. Maya saw him and did say anything. She pushed her glasses up and walked faster. 'Maya...' Harris called from behind. She didn't even look back to her lover. She just walked off like she didn't know who he was. Tears fell from Harris' eyes and just then it started to rain heavily. It seemed as though the clouds were crying with pain just like Harris. Maya hurriedly put up her umbrella. Harris had his umbrella in his bag but didn't take it out. He wanted a chance to talk with Maya.

He ran in front of Maya. 'Look, I'm getting soaked by this rain. Will you share your umbrella with me?' Maya sympathetically let him underneath, pulling him by his shirt, still not saying anything. For a minute it was silence. You could only hear the rain splashing onto the ground. 'Ok Maya. You need to speak up now.' Harris said breaking the silence. 'You've stayed quiet for too long and I'm getting very worried. You're not talking to me anymore...' His voice cracked and he started to break down in tears again. Maya stared at him in pain. 'I don't know what I've done but I'm so sorry Maya. I can't live without you. You don't know how sad I've been feeling without you.' Maya quickly threw her umbrella on the floor and ran hugged Harris tightly.

'Don't cry Harris. Shhh,' she said comforting him and stroking his head whilst he placed them gently on her shoulder. 'I'm sorry. I've just not been in the mood to talk to anyone lately. I really didn't mean to hurt you Harris.'

Maya was feeling very heartbroken and she hated herself for what she had done. She couldn't leave Harris and break his heart just because hers was slowly dying. When Maya had got home she knocked on her door but no one was home. Her mum and Musa had gone somewhere with Adam's family. Harris and Maya were soaking wet because of the rain that had drenched them. Harris offered Maya to come in his house. Maya agreed and went in with Harris. No one was in his house too. Only the two of them. He led Maya upstairs in front of his bedroom. He stopped and looked in. 'Just wait a sec...' he said to Maya closing the door behind him as he walked into his bedroom. He picked up the frames of Maya that were displayed on his desk and wall and then hid them in his draws.

He then called Maya in and made her sit on his bed. He put the towel on Maya's head and started wiping here soggy hair. Goosebumps covered Maya. She was frightened not knowing what will happen. 'You're going to become ill,' he said caringly. 'You're wetter than me.' He left Maya's hair alone and walked over to his wardrobe. He pulled out a grey t – shirt and his blue jogging bottoms. 'Here.' He said passing it to her. 'Go and change in the bathroom. Have a shower if you want.' Maya's heart started to beat faster and faster.

'No, it's ok.' She said refusing to take his clothes. Harris walked over to her and touched her soaked, pink dress. Her heart was pounding out of her chest. Her face turned bright red and she stared to sweat. She was terrified. 'You're telling me that you're ok.' Harris laughed. 'Have you seen your clothes? Go and change. I mean it. You don't know when your family will come back.' Maya didn't say anything and walked to the bathroom.

The first drop hit her skin. Maya's panic disappeared, it all seemed clear. The warm droplets formed steam as she stood there without moving at all, the voices of Harris talking sweetly banging in her head. Maya started to hum a song whilst she was showering. She heard a loud knock on the door. 'Have you done yet?' Harris joked around. 'Hurry up.'

She turned the water off and screamed. 'No! Go away!' She screamed and slammed the door. Again Harris came knocking on the door. 'Hurry up! Or else I will open the door.' Maya started to panic and she turned the water off.

'You wouldn't dare!' Maya screamed. Harris then slightly opened the door and Maya went rushing to close the bathroom door and locking the door completely. 'You pervert!' She immediately changed into Harris' borrowed clothes. She walked into his bedroom whilst he was already changed clearing his messy bedroom.

'Nice singing.' He praised. Maya blushed hard, embarrassed.

'Shut up!' She snapped annoyed. 'What do you think you were doing? Opening the door like that.' She sat back on the comfy bed.

'I was worried for you. You were taking so long that I thought you had fainted.'

'Hahaha! Very funny, you could me singing? Do people sing when they faint, now?...... But thanks... I mean for worrying about me' she replied shyly.

'Time for some delicious hot chocolate.' He said giving it to her. Maya thanked him and sipped the hot chocolate. 'I'm sorry for crying like an idiot in front of you.' Harris apologized. 'I was being an idiot.' Maya smiled and said it was ok. 'Could I ask you who that guy is living in your house?' Harris asked uncomfortably. There was a little silence.

'Ermm... He's just a relative of mine.' She replied simply stuttering. Harris was still a little suspicious. He was thinking why Maya didn't tell him the truth that the boy living in her house is her boyfriend. Just then Harris' mother walked into his bedroom.

'Hey guys. What's going on?' She asked suspiciously. 'Why is Maya wearing your clothes?' Harris stood up and explained everything to his mother whilst Maya wanted the earth to swallow her.

After Maya had finished off her hot chocolate she walked home. This time Adam opened the door. He looked at Maya up and down. She ignored him and went and sat on the sofa. Her mother walked in and saw Maya. 'What are you wearing?' She snapped. Maya cleared all of the misunderstanding and explained what had happened. Adam listened attentively. When Maya's mother had gone he whispered to Maya. 'Is the guy called Harris your boyfriend?'

'What's it to you?' Maya snapped.

'It has got something to do with me. Tell me.'

'It has nothing to do with you! What will you do if he is?' Adam walked off annoyed and slammed his bedroom door. Maya was shaking downstairs. She had no idea why Adam was asking and what to do with her personal life.
