It was a fresh, bright day, unlike the usual wet days. Lots of people were outdoor, active in the park exercising and on the other hand some people were near the beach, relaxing walking barefoot on the glistening and tropical sand taking full advantage of the sensational weather. It was a youthful and natural day which was heavenly. Light wind was breezing softly hitting Maya's face as she walked into college.

'Hey!' Harris screamed running behind Maya. Maya embarrassedly walked off acting like she did not know him. Everyone in the hallway was staring at the pair of them. Maya was a nerd and she was very unpopular and she was known to get bullied. On the other hand Harris was a popular, chilled out, handsome and attractive boy that everyone wanted to be with. This was a shock for people that Harris was chasing after a nerd and he paid a lot of attention to her. 'I was talking to you Maya.' He said grabbing her arm and pulling her towards him. She turned around to see that they were so close to each other. There was hardly any space between the both of them. Harris was out of breath trying to catch up with her. He breathed heavily whilst he gazed in her eyes admiringly. She gazed back too affectionately. She had loved him but had to stop herself from getting her in a further relationship with him. She was going to die. She wasn't gonna be here with him forever. She only has a few days left. How was she gonna love him and let him love her too and then leave him all alone? She didn't have a good, healthy, heart but she also didn't have a heart which was made of stone. She wasn't a human who had no feelings. She wanted Harris to be happy not mourning after Maya dies. Maya didn't know whether it was Harris's eyes or talks were the reason, that he became the wish of her heart, even though he was near, she felt like he was still not hers, why did she have such complaints against him? He didn't do anything. He wasn't anyone else's and he wasn't hers either. There was grief, the heart cried too, it cherished dreams, gone mad, it regretted why she met him.

It had been ages and they were still gazing at each other. Everyone in the hall was staring at both them. Girls were eyeing them enviously, wishing that they were in Maya's place. Maya had realized that everyone was staring at them and she walked off. Harris sadly watched Maya walk off leaving him. The girls started gossiping about how a girl like Maya could ever leave a handsome guy like Harris. Harris' heart was tearing apart and he wanted to cry out loud. Harris was going to tell Maya his feelings about her today. He was going to tell her that he loved her but everything went wrong. Pain was injecting in him and he wanted the earth to swallow him.

In their History lesson, Maya avoided eye contact with Harris. He was sat there depressed; his heart was torn apart like a piece of paper. Just taking one look at Harris, you could tell that he felt abandoned and melancholy. Usually, there was always happiness and joy filled in his eyes but this time sadness and loneliness was seen in his eyes.

Harris was sat with his friends at break on the corridors. 'What's wrong?' His friend Aaron asked. 'Nothing. Just a little depressed.' Harris replied solemnly.

'Well, I've got something for us to try out.' His other friend, James giggled. 'We brought these.' He said taking some miniskirts out of a bag.' Harris looked at the both of them scornfully.

'Oh my god! What do you want me to do now?' Harris asked dreadfully.

'Basically, we want to know how girls can wear miniskirts and we want to know what it feels like.' Aaron said laughing. Harris started to walk off angrily. 'Come on Harris. All three of us will try it out.' Harris stopped and walked back to the both of them again. 'Hope this enlightens my mood.' Harris said grabbing a bright pink skirt. They all walked to the bathroom and tried on their skirts. Harris took off his trousers and put them hanging on the door whilst he put on the skirt. James quickly grabbed Harris's trousers and ran out of the bathroom with Aaron. 'Guys, give it back,' Harris screamed again and again. No one seemed to reply. Harris walked out of the cubicle and looked for Aaron and James. He forgot that he had his skirt on and he walked out of the boy's bathroom in search for them.

Everyone walking by stopped and stared at him. Maya was walking to her lesson with Natasha and saw that here was a huge crowd, so they both followed it. They couldn't see what was going on and to get a better view they both pushed forward to the front of the crowd. Harris was stood there in his bright pink, miniskirt embarrassedly hiding himself. He saw Maya and Natasha staring at him. He turned around quickly and ran back into the bathroom feeling very hot and sick. That whole day he stayed in the bathroom cubicle and did not come out. He was outraged and exasperated. He was mad and annoyed at his two best friends who had always played pranks on him. Harris sat on the toilet crying because he was confused and didn't know what to do. He was hurt at the fact that he was unable to portray his feelings to Maya. And on top of that his two best friends tried to make him feel better but it didn't work and it made Harris even more furious.

Maya and Natasha had noticed that Harris wasn't seen throughout the day and that everyone in school was talking about him. Maya felt sympathetic towards him. She didn't know where he was or what he was doing. Whilst the teacher was turned away from the class Maya instantly got her phone out and texted Harris asking where he was. A few minutes later her phone started beeping. She sneakily looked at under the table. Harris said that he was in the bathroom waiting for a pair of trousers. Maya tried to hold back her laughter and keeping a straight face on. 'Ermm... Sir', Maya said lifting her hand up. 'Yes', he said turning around to Maya's squeaky voice. (It was squeakier than expected) 'I have to go right now. My mum is calling me. She said that it's an emergency.' 'OK. You have the permission to go then.' He replied to her happily. Maya was getting out of her seat when Natasha who was sitting next to her pulled her hand. 'Where are you going?' She muttered under her breath. 'Just want to get out of lesson.' Maya snorted. With that Maya flung her backpack around her back and walked out of lesson. She got out of college and ran straight to the nearest shop. She went in the men's section and looked for trousers. She didn't know Harris's trouser size. She tried calling him but his phone was busy. In a hurry she pulled one grey, jogging pants from the rack and went to the counter and paid for it.

After that Maya scurried back to college. Maya turned left and right to see if anyone was looking at her. No one was there, so she secretly sneaked into the boy's toilet. 'Harris!' She yelled at the top of her lungs. Harris who was sat on the toilet with his hands on his face looked up and heard her scream his name again. With that he rushed out of the cubicle. 'What the hell are you doing in here?' He growled. Maya looked at him up and down with a smirk on her face. Harris looked down and realized that he was wearing his skirt. He embarrassedly ran back into the cubicle. 'Stop being so coy like a bride. It doesn't suit you.' Maya laughed.

'Shut up!' Harris barked. Maya laughed and laughed.

'Here you go.' Maya chuckled throwing the new pair of trousers to him from the top of the cubicle. 'These are not mine!' Harris protested. 'I brought you some new trousers you dimwit.' Maya laughed. 'Excuse me. I'm no dimwit!' Harris declared. 'You are the dimwit here.' Maya laughed and laughed. Harris opened the door of the cubicle dreadfully. 'What is this?' He said pointing at his trousers. They were huge on him. It was half falling off his waist. Maya screeched whilst laughing holding her belly. Her short, beautiful hair bounced in time as she jumped up and down in laughter. 'That is NOT funny!' Harris testified. Maya still carried on laughing which made Harris laugh too. 'You have to wear this or the skirt.' Maya exclaimed. 'I'd rather not wear anything.' He joked and winked which made Maya blush red a little. He inspected the trousers carefully. 'Where did you get this from?' He asked seriously. Maya tried to control her unbearable laughter. 'The charity shop!' She bellowed, laughing and giggling at his reaction, but he just smiled at her thinking of how beautiful she was when she was laughing.
