The rain bore on endlessly, pounding on the rooftops and turning the roads into vast lakes of shallow, muddy water. Dark grey clouds covered the sky, only letting a few rays of weak sun slip past. The dreary sound of raindrops beating on the platform blended in with the occasional whisper of the breeze. Everything was bleak, grey, and depressing- even the atmosphere. People were dressed in heavy coats and holding large umbrellas walking quickly, not stopping to look at anything or anyone.

Maya had to go and meet Dr Smith again. It was her next appointment. Once again she was put in a smelly, isolated room. When she was waiting for Dr Smith to arrive with her folder she looked around the room wondering if her grave was going to be so lonely and segregate. This thought gave her shivers down her back. Just then Dr Smith walked in with some folders in his hand. 'Hello Maya Khan. How are you?' Dr Smith asked cheerfully.

'Very well thank you. What about you?' Maya replied thankfully.

'Good. The weather is just so gloomy.' Dr Smith added. He walked towards Maya and sat down next to her. 'Let's get on with some checkups then to see how you are getting on.'

After a few checkups when Dr Smith brought the reports Maya smiled at him and then asked. 'How many days do I have left to live?' Dr Smith looked at her and then his repots and then smiled and sat down next to her. He held her hand tightly. 'Dear, add life to your days, not days to your life.'

It was Monday. Maya didn't go to college today because she had a doctor's appointment. Harris and Natasha were in college. At break because Maya wasn't in Natasha felt a little alone, but luckily Harris was happy to accompany her. Natasha wanted to express her love for Harris today. 'I really need to tell you something.' Natasha said thoughtfully whilst they both sat down to eat.

'So do I.' Harris said.

 'You go first.' Natasha pleaded.

'No, you go first.' Harris begged.

'No! I said you go first.' Natasha argued. Harris finally agreed. He smiled whilst he looked down at the table.

'Well. I don't know if Maya had told you or not that she made meet my father after so long.' Natasha looked at Harris confused. 'I meant. I had never seen my father since I was born and she took me to see him yesterday.' Harris smiled at himself in deep thought. Natasha felt a sense of jealousy move through her body like a tide of fire. 'This thing that I'm going to tell you is very important. Don't tell anyone.' Harris added. Natasha's stomach fluttered with butterflies. Her rosy, pink cheeks blushed hard. I don't know how to say this but 'I've been noticing that I cannot live without Maya anymore.' Natasha's heart pounded with pain. 'I really love her.' Harris confessed. Natasha's heart was pierced with a sword. The world had collapsed. All her dreams were burnt with a flicker of a flame. She had been ripped apart. It was a complete nightmare. Her heart seemed as though it was beaten and bruised with scars that would never heal. Only memories remained standing. Natasha looked out of the window. It seemed as though it would be raining forever. Every joy of hers seemed to be lost in tears. Natasha was only left with a broken heart.

'I love Maya!' Harris repeated. Tears flowed constantly out of Natasha's heart, but not on her face. She didn't want to show Harris the soft, jealous side to her.

'Natasha. Are you okay?' Harris asked sympathetically. Natasha got up, grabbed her bag and walked out of the dining hall. Harris chased after her.

'Natasha. Natasha. Wait up!' He kept on screaming from behind her. He finally caught up with her. Harris held her elbow to grab her attention.

'What do you want?!' She screeched. Harris stopped walking and looked at her. Tears blabbered all over her face.

'You were going to tell me something too.' Harris said hesitantly.

'I was going to say something... not anymore.' Natasha explained. She started to walk away again wiping the tears off her face. Harris dragged Natasha to a corner and put his arms on the wall surrounding her so that she couldn't escape. Maya just walked back into college and saw the both of them in the corner. They looked as if they were kissing. She felt a tide of jealousy and rage ride through her heart. She didn't know what the both of them were doing but Maya was suspicious. Angrily Maya stormed out of college and went back home. She had never felt this angry before.

'What are you doing?' Natasha exclaimed. 'Let me go!' Harris was still blocking her way.

'No, not until you tell me what is wrong.' Harris said looking into Natasha's eyes but she tried to avoid it.

'Maya loves someone else... Not you.' Natasha lied. Harris stared at Natasha.

'What? Maya loves...' Harris repeated glumly.

'Someone else, not you I said' Natasha miffed. Harris moved his arms from Natasha. He looked at Natasha upsettingly.

'Look for someone who actually cares about you!' Natasha snorted and then walked off crying. Harris was abandoned in the hallway. Rivers of tears flew down his cheek. His heart was broken. Everyone's heart was broken. Harris's, Maya's and Natasha's.

The following day Harris tried to ring Maya several of times. She wouldn't pick up the phone because she was mad at the misunderstanding she had that Harris liked Natasha. Harris was worried and didn't know what to do. His heart was injured badly. Maya's phone ringed again. This time it was Natasha. Maya still didn't want to pick the phone up so she left it ringing continuously. Natasha left a voice recording saying. 'Meet me at the café at the end of your street tomorrow at four pm. Please come...'
