Chapter 17
I knew I was starting to come through because I could hear voices around me. I couldn't understand what they were saying because I was still really out of it and really tired. I slowly opened my eyes to see Corey and Jake with red faces and I seen Jamie in the middle of them trying to get them to calm down and not end up punching each other in the face.
I could tell that they were panting from yelling at each other so I said "You two look like you stuck your heads in hot water cuz your faces are that red."
Their faces seamed relieved when I said this because they all came and surrounded me all talking at once. I couldn't hear myself think with all them talking so I said "Guys." They obviously didn't hear me so I tried again a little louder "Guys!"
They continued on and on so I got really mad by then and said "Guys! Would you please shut the hell up? I can't hear myself think with you guys going on and on in front of me like that."
They had their mouths shut by then and they all mumbled "sorry." I sighed and tried to control my breath. Corey was the first one to speak when he said "What happened to you last night? I mean one minute you were fine, then the next minute you stood there like you seen a ghost and you just passed out."
I sighed and looked at him as I said "I'd rather not talk about it right now."
"Why?"
"Cuz I don't, it's difficult for me right now."
"What's so difficult about telling us what's wrong?"
"Ugh, would you just please shut up?"
"Umm no, not until you tell us why you passed out last night."
"Alright you really wanna know?"
"Uh yea."
"Fine, you remember last night when you said I was like a sister to you?"
"Yea why?"
"Well when you mentioned that, it made me think about my little brother back home. I guess the reason why I passed out was because I haven't seen my little bro in a couple days. So I don't know if he's alive or not."
"You had a little brother?"
"Yea, I just said that, weren't you listening?"
"Yea of course I was."
I rolled my eyes at Corey and then looked over at Jake and said "Hey, you ok."
He stood there and shrugged then walked away. I sighed and looked back over at Corey and said "What did you do to him?"
Corey looked at me and said "I told him what a big fake he was and then we started fighting while you were asleep or passed out or whatever you wanna call it."
I sighed and said "Well it would have been nice if you guys could get along for once. I'm gonna go see if he's ok. Please don't do anything stupid while I'm away." I said as I stood up. He looked at me and said "Yea whatever."
I sighed and walked out the kitchen door to go and find Jake.
