Chapter 14
We walked into the small restaurant and a waitress was standing there with a smile on her face looking right at Jake when she said "Hello, welcome to The Black Bear Café, would you like a table or booth?"
Jake simply smiled and said "May we have a booth please?"
The waitress nodded and grabbed 2 menus after saying "Follow me please."
We followed her as she led us to a booth that was in the back of the Café. I sat down at one end and Jake sat down on the other end while the waitress set our menus down and continued to talk to Jake "What can I get you to drink?"
Jake made a gesture towards me and said "Sarah, what would you like?"
I smiled and said "May I just get a glass of water please?"
The waitress put on a fake smile towards me and said "Yea sure, now what can I get you young man?"
Jake looked at her and said I'll have a coke and also a glass of water too please?"
The waitress gave him a cheesy grin and said "Of course, coming right up."
She walked away and as she did I shook my head and rolled my eyes at her thinking 'Cheese desperate much?'
I noticed Jake was watching me and I gave him a small smile before saying "She's such a cheese cake."
Jake looked at me and busted out laughing. I couldn't help but laugh too because it was pretty funny.
When we both stopped laughing he said "Now, why do you say that?"
I looked at him and said "Well because she was totally hitting on you. I don't see how you didn't notice."
Jake shrugged at me and said "I usually ignore the people who try to get my attention. I mean when they do that it's pointless to even acknowledge them because they're not showing you their normal self. They act like someone they're not."
I nodded in agreement thinking about telling him about the dream I had earlier today. I sighed and looked up to see Jake was still staring at me. I cleared my throat and ask "Do you know of a cabin a couple miles from this town?"
Jake thought for a minute before saying "Yea... I've been around it a couple times mainly to help the old lady that lives there. Why?"
"I need to get there soon because there's something I need to pick up from her."
"Oh, what that you need to get?"
"Umm... some necklace that she said she made for me. She mentioned to me that I'm going to need it as soon as possible."
Jake looked at me for a minute then said "Alright we'll leave tomorrow morning to head up there. It's too dangerous to be in the woods this time of the night."
Just then the waitress came back with our drinks and said "Are you ready to order handsome?"
Jake nodded and said "I'd like the cheeseburger with fries please?"
She had such a wide ass stupid grin as she wrote down his order while saying "Alright anything else?"
"No thanks that should do me."
I could tell the waitress sighed as she turned to face me as she said and might I add in a snobby kind of way "Have you decided what you wanted yet?"
"I nodded and said "Yes, I'd like the vegetable soup and the salad please?"
She sighed and said "Anything else?"
I smiled and said "No thanks."
She walked away and I sighed while shaking my head. It was silent for a couple of minutes before Jake said "I'll be right back."
I nodded and said "Ok." wondering why he left soon. I seen he walked into the men's room and I sat back and relaxed while waiting for him to return. A couple minutes later there was noise coming from the kitchen and our waitress came storming out of the kitchen door and went out the front doors.
I sighed and I guessed I wasn't gonna eat tonight. So I stood up and walked to the front to pay for the drinks. When I finished I noticed that Jake came out and he seamed really sad. I wanted to ask him what was the matter but I figured I'd ask him later instead.
I gave him a small smile and said "I'm really tired so I'd rather go back and go to bed if that's ok with you."
He nodded and grabbed my hand and we walked out of the restaurant back to his house.

It was an awkward silence for a little bit but I decided that I didn't like it at all.
"Hey Jake, are you alright? I mean you seam really sad, so I wanted to see if you were alright"
I heard him sigh as he pulled my to a stop and turned my towards him as he said "I'm just really afraid that anytime I try to protect you, I feel like I'm going to let you down one of these days. I'm pretty scared right now because of that."
I looked at him and said "Jake, you have to do me a favor and not worry about this because I really, really trust you right now"
I smiled at him and decided to comfort him by giving him another friendly hug. He hugged me back and sighed.
After that he seemed a little better because he was almost smiling from ear to hear as he said "Thanks Sarah, you're an amazing person but an even better friend.
We made our way back to Jakes house in silence. When we opened the door my eyes went wide as I saw Dustin laying in a pull of blood.
His blood.
My eyes went wide and I pressed my palm against my mouth to keep from screaming.
I was breathing heavily and I ended up blacking out just as Jake caught me in time to not land on the floor.
