We ended up at Kam’s house. She seemed to be waiting for us though, as if she knew exactly what Embry had wanted as soon as we got there. From the corner of my eyes, I saw Embry narrow her eyes at the woman standing in front of us with a knowing look. Slowly, she let go of my hand, which left me a little disappointed, and then she walked towards where Kam was standing, a determined look crossing her features. I stared at her in admiration and was happy once again, that she was the one that would be my lover.

Too bad that I didn’t even understand what the hell was going on at the moment; so when Embry spoke up, I was entirely shocked by her words.

“Kam, we’re ready to know the prophecy.” Embry said fiercely, which made her all the more enticing to me. Kam seemed to sigh at Embry, as if she hadn’t known what Embry was going to say in the first place, but the glint in her eyes gave her away too easily.

“Embry, I already told you the answer to this. I’m not allowed to interfere with the prophecy; you’re supposed to figure it out on your own… or well, with the help of your… other half.” When she said this, she sent a glance towards me and I was totally alert as to what they were talking about now. What the hell did she mean that we had to figure this ‘prophecy’ out?!

I knew my face had gone blank as I thought over all of the possible answers to this mystery puzzle. I immediately stopped thinking when I saw Embry move, my eyes followed her every movement, as if she were the most magnificent thing they’d ever laid eyes upon. I was beginning to creep myself out now, so I needed to stop thinking about her in this way. She’d taken a step towards Kam and seemed to be deep in thought as to what she would say next.

“Kam look, this isn’t really your prophecy now is it? I mean, it is meant for Atticus and I, so we should be able to make up what happens during it. We should be able to pick whether we fall in love or not; we should be able to pick how we figure out the prophecy to begin with. We should be able to pick out how it all ends.” Her voice sounded like velvet as she tried to convince Kam to tell us the prophecy. I was completely glowing when I noticed how deep she seemed to be trying to take this. I loved how she said that we should be able to make our own decisions and not the fates; although I was a little put off when she said that we could choose not to fall in love.

Kam seemed to be as much taken aback by Embry’s words as I was; but after a little thinking about it, Kam seemed to side with Embry in the end and tell us the prophecy.

“Fine, but we must speak with Dev in the room as well.” I cursed when I heard her words. Dev was most likely going to be infuriated that we had talked Kam into telling us something that she wasn’t allowed to do.

Involuntarily, my body took me to stand behind Embry when Kam had turned and motioned for us to follow her.

Embry suddenly turned around, about to speak before she ran into my chest. I was amused by this and it was all the more cute and hilarious when I heard the words she’d mumbled to herself against my chest.

“Yep, he was following.” She looked up at me then, and I was almost captivated by her beautiful eyes before she rolled them and turned on her heel, following where Kam had disappeared to. I followed after her after a moment of calming my nerves. We were all seating in the living room now. The silence was beginning to become deafening and I just wanted someone to talk already. As if to answer my prayers, Embry turned to Kam and spoke.

“Ok, so now tell us about the prophecy.” Dev looked towards the two abruptly, probably wishing that he didn’t hear what he thought he just did. He seemed to be caught off guard immensely.

From the corner of my eye, I saw Kam look away in embarrassment and Embry trying to hold in a chuckle. Kam turned to glare at Embry then and then Embry just smirked and shrugged as if it wasn’t her fault… which is wasn’t. That was when Kam decided to look towards Dev then. Dev seemed a little confused, and looking at the two of the girls with suspicion, while I just amused myself by just watching.

“Ok, sorry I hadn’t mentioned it before Dev, but I think it’s time that we tell them about the prophecy that they will need to fulfill.” Kam said, surprisingly sounding nonchalant. Dev raised his eyebrow at her, wanting her to continue; although she sat there quietly for a moment. Just as Embry was about to speak up, Kam decided that she found her voice.

“They deserve to know. Embry actually made an impressive speech of why exactly they should know the prophecy actually, but I’ll get into that later. I will need you to go get the scroll Dev.” Dev grudgingly got up and disappeared down the hall then, to retrieve the ‘scroll’.

I watched silently as Embry seemed to be bursting with anxiety. I wanted to comfort her, but I wasn’t so sure whether she’d allow for me to. I decided against it and wait for Dev to come back with the scroll.

When he finally returned, he hesitantly handed the scroll over to Kam after she’d given him ‘the look’. I couldn't help the chuckled that escaped my lips at that and Dev turned to scowl at me, while Embry looked at me in amusement.

I guess we were about to find out another part of this puzzle.
