My mind kept wandering back to the delectable body I had seen seconds before. I felt like a complete idiot just standing there staring and unable to move like everyone else had. I followed the fiery girl out of her hospital room as she began walking down to the end of the hall to sign out. Kam was already there signing papers and then we left after Embry spoke with Kam about training.
While we rode, all I could think about was the moment when she had fell onto me in the hospital room. It had felt as if I were complete in that moment, sparks shivering up my body giving me a tingly sensation. I was abruptly snapped from my thoughts when I was shoved from my seat and onto the ground. I blinked for a moment, trying to figure out what the hell just happened. When I was more oriented, I found that Embry had been the one to shove me from my seat so that she could get out. She had her eyes narrowed towards me and it reminded me that I was a complete idiot for what I had said a week before. How could I have said that after I knew how badly she took it the time before?! It had been my entire fault that her emotions were running wild and she was in turn attacked because of it.
“What are you looking at Atticus? You’re starting to get on my nerves. Come on so that we can hurry up and train.” I looked up into her beautiful eyes and shuddered at the venomous look she was giving me. I bit my lip and then continued walking up the stairs and into the middle floor of Kam’s home. I stared around for a moment before following Kam and Embry to another place that I hadn’t been before. Dev was nowhere to be seen though. I hadn’t seen him since the time when they first told us of the prophecy… it just seemed as if he was avoiding me or something. Shaking the thought from my head, I hurried my footsteps to catch up with the two who were rushing down the hall.
We stopped outside this huge chamber door so that Kam could open it with some weird code. It swung open and we stepped into this dark room that didn’t seem to be anything special. Kam shut the doors before she turned on the light. She looked to see that we were alone before motioning for us to follow her. She led us to the back of the small room and then motioned to this secret door that was revealed after she removed a carpet. She unlocked the door with the key around her neck and then motioned for us to go in before her. We descended the stairs cautiously, not knowing what to expect. It seemed that this was the first time that Embry has seen this place as well, which was a little weird since she’s been with Kam for all these years.
As we went through what seemed like a dark tunnel, Kam lit up a torch and we continued forward. As we reached the end of the tunnel, we entered into this huge white arena-like room. I looked around in astonishment, surprised by the size of it. As I was looking around, I noticed someone familiar standing in the corner of the room. Dev was leant up against the white wall, observing Embry and mine’s reaction to this place. Suddenly, the scenery changed and we seemed to be in what looked like a forest. A small waterfall was to my left and Embry was staring at its beauty is awe. I smiled at how absolutely stunning she looked staring at the waterfall. Seeming to sense my stare, she turned and met my gray eyes. Her beautiful emerald eyes narrowed when she caught me and I quickly averted my eyes to avoid her angry stare.
I began to take in more scenery as I avoided staring at her. I turned to look at Kam when she finally called us to attention. She smiled at us slightly before taking on a more influential air.
“Okay, to begin our training session you both are going to need to keep an open mind. Not one thing is more important than the other, okay?” She asked, demanding an answer. Hesitating, we both nodded curtly before motioning for her to continue. “Well, to start us off, we’re going to have to work on your mental abilities first. We cannot have you panicking while you’re supposed to be fulfilling your prophecy. It does not only apply to Embry, but it has come to our attention that something may distract you easily and you lose focus.” Kam looked at me this time and I tried to hide the blush that was threatening to spread. “So we will begin your first lesson with meditation.” She said with confidence, which brought a frown upon both mine and Embry’s face.
