I wish I could kill the part of myself that hates me so much, but that seems impossible because it feels like that's all I've become. If I wanted to kill my inner demons, I had to kill every single part of me, because that's what I've become. I'm full of hatred towards myself, and it's killing me slowly.

I sat in my office, staring out the window.

"Mr. Ro'Meave? He's ready for you"

I nodded to the worker, standing up. I walked down the hall and up to the black wood door. I stepped inside, walking up to the desk. I sat in one of the chairs and cleared my throat. He turned around, his older blue eyes staring into mine.

"Hello, Garroth"

"Hello, father"

"I have a mission for you..."

"Name it"

"Tell me...have you heard of the Dark Queen?"

"You mean...like from the fairy tale you use to read to me?"

"Kind of...except she isn't a fable" he stood up and paced around me, "and I need you to go and fetch her for me like a good little dog"

I nodded and stood up.

"Dead or alive?"

"Alive, and if she dies it'll be your life on the line"

You can't kill me

"Understood"

He never gave me enough information. I went to the library and started reading every myth and story I could find on The Dark Queen.

As I was reading a book, a map slipped out. It fell onto my lap. I looked and saw there was a red circle that circled an area with some sort of building like structures on it. A small note was stuck to it.

Going here is suicide, do not go

Well that looked like an invitation to me.

I grabbed my bag that I always took with me on adventures, and started on my way. It would be a long journey, but I would make it.

The mountain on this map wasn't on any other map, nor was any other land mark on this map. It was an island, and I had very little leads to figure out where on earth I was going to find it.

I figured my best bet was to go on a boat. Obviously, I had no clue where to go. All I could figure out, was this island was west from O'Khasis. I left O'Khasis gates, nodding at the guards who stood out front. I arrived at my boat and my small crew was already waiting for me.

"Mr. Ro'Meave" they greeted. I nodded to them in acknowledgement also, and got on the boat.

"Go west until we find more land" I instructed

"But-"

"West" I barked. They cowered and nodded, quickly rushing to their stations.

The boat moved quickly and cut through the waters. I took in a deep breath and went into my cabin.

"What, not even a hello?"

I gritted my teeth and turned towards the mirror

"What're you doing here?" I growled

My reflection smirked at me, I balled my fists and avoided looking at it.

"Relax, just wanted to make sure you knew what you were doing"

"I know what I'm doing, and I don't need someone to baby me!"

"Okay, where are you going?"

"West!" I shouted and broke the mirror out of rage.

My mirror me was gone and I was alone. I sighed and picked up the larger shards of glass, setting them on my dresser. I plopped onto my bed and stared at the ceiling.

My mirror me was the opposite version of me. Like an alternate universe of sorts. He always showed up, and patronized me. He always made me furious and boiling with rage, I hated him. Beyond the mirror, was a whole different universe. Everyone had their alter egos, but they didn't show up to anyone. I was one of the lucky people cursed with having to face my own. Someone once told me that it happened to anyone who was immortal, it made sense because my whole family experienced problems. Legends say we should fear and avoid our mirror selves, because they say things we're afraid to know. They remind us of things we don't want to think about. They're overall annoying. Like my family.

I never really liked my family, aside from my mother and brother, Vylad. I especially detested Zane. He always thought he was better than me. Zane was a demon in disguise, when I was just a low life assassin. At least that's how he always explained it.

Everyone in our family was immortal. We lived forever, but we weren't invincible, we could be killed like everybody else. Each of us also specialize in some sort of magic, except for me...that's why my brother says I'm a low life, I don't posses the powers the rest of my family does. Mother says I just haven't discovered them, father says I'm a dud, Zane says I'm pathetic, and Vylad...Vylad just keeps to himself mostly.

I allowed my eyelids to fall, and soon I drifted into a deep slumber.

"Sir! There's a storm!"

I woke up to monstrous waves rocking the boat. Our crew shouting orders and trying to keep this thing up. One wave in particular came by and before I knew it, everything was black.
