~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~(Aphmau's POV)
We walked together into the garden. Vylad placed a hand on my shoulder and I closed my eyes. We were teleported to the middle of the forest, the path to our camp under our feet.
"Why didn't you just bring us straight into camp?" I questioned, pulling off my helmet and removing the jewel.
"We need to talk....about what you told Garroth. Your father's attacking O'Khasis? And you're becoming darkness? When were you going to tell us?"
"I just got home last night and I didn't want to ruin the mood of the party," I awkwardly picked at my nails, "please don't tell anyone about the darkness thing, I don't want to worry anyone," I begged. Vylad gave me an understanding look and nodded.
"Fine, but you realise you're going to have to tell them eventually, right?"
"I know....I just don't know how to break it to them."
"As long as you tell them, so do you have any idea how you're going to handle this yet?"
"For now, everything is too risky. I can't use a lot of magic, or I might flip and turn dark an- UGH," I gripped my head and collapsed to the ground. My head was pounding.
"What's wrong?!" Vylad rushed to my side, holding me.
"N-nothing, just....a headache," I managed through gritted teeth.
"I'll go get some help-"
"NO!' I grabbed his wrist and stopped him from running away, "don't....I-I'll be fine," I stood up with difficulty, "see? All fine."
"Aphmau...."
"Vylad, you cannot tell anyone, do you hear me?"
"But-"
"Vylad."
"Fine," he sighed. I nodded and then a pair of footsteps rushed towards. I looked up and saw Levin running to us.
"Mama!" He grinned and jumped into my arms. I grinned and picked him up, spinning him around.
"Hi, honey," I kissed his forehead.
"I missed you," my heart melted.
"I missed you, too," I hugged him tighter.
I looked up and saw Laurance panting.
"That boy sure can run fast," he breathed. I laughed and looked at Levin.
"Did you run away from whoever was looking after you?"
"Yeah, but I saw you," he placed a small hand on my nose. I grinned and looked at Laurance.
"Sorry about that," I apologised.
"Don't worry about it, so how'd it go?"
"Good, we got to see Garroth, but didn't get him out."
"Is there a plan to get him out?"
"Not yet," I sighed. I placed Levin on the ground and held his hand. "Let's get home."
(Garroth's POV)
I let go of the bars, looking down at my hands to see they were beginning to blister. I didn't care that they were burning and searing with pain. I took a deep breath and sat back down, leaning against a wall.
There was more footsteps. I figured they were just guards, so I didn't acknowledge them.
But then there was a voice.
"Hello, Garroth."
I looked up and felt my face go pale.
"What a shame that you're here....in a cell...a magical one at that," he chuckled and touched one finger to a bar, "oh, that is some powerful stuff!" He chuckled.
"What are you doing here?" My voice wavered.
"I know you know my daughter is in the over world, but I don't know how you know," the Shadow Lord paced slowly with his hands locked behind his back.
"I only know what I've been told," I mumbled.
"Either way, I could use your help....I'm planning on destroying this kingdom. I thought you would be the smartest inside help because I know you don't care about this place, so whaddya say," he reached through the bars flawlessly and smiled, "partners?"
"What's in it for me?"
"Your freedom."
(Aphmau's POV)
That night they threw another party. It was getting really late at night, and I went into my hurt. The silhouette of someone sitting at my small table was what I was presented with. I froze and tried to see who it was, but the moonlight was too bright behind him.
"I knew you were here."
And I knew who it was from the voice.
"What are you doing here?"
"I think the real question is what are you doing here? You were supposed to be at Hyria's in healing," Gene stood and stepped near Levin and Malachi's shared bed, and my maternal instincts stepped in, and I used my powers to bend the wind to my will, and my will was to have him frozen in place.
"Don't touch my sons," I growled.
"Look at you, still using magic even though you know how risky it is."
I stepped closer, ignoring my headache. I grabbed his throat and glared at him. Since I was using my magic, my wings had come out and the smoke on the end became hot.
"Tell me what you're doing here..."
"Just curious...." He wheezed, still grinning like an idiot, "don't worry, I'm not gonna rat you out to daddy. Just wanted to see if I was right," he started to laugh, and I stared at him in fear. I dropped him, and he left out the window.
As soon as silence filled my ears, I felt the world become hazy and the room began to spin. I teetered from one foot to the other as tears began to well and rest in my eyes, falling down my cheeks. I felt shadows spin around the room, and I fell to my knees first. I gripped my head and squeezed my eyes shut. I laid on the ground and curled into a ball.
Everything started shutting down and spinning until I heard a voice.
"Mama?"
I froze, and I no longer felt like I was drowning. I felt like someone had given me oxygen again. I blinked until my tears slowed, and I looked up. Levin was rubbing his eye while Malachi sat beside him. I sat on my knees and wiped away the last little bit of tears.
"Did I wake you?"
They nodded. I sat on their bed and held them close. I rubbed their arms and kissed their heads.
Now what.
A/N So will Garroth accept the Shadow Lord's deal? Who knows? I knows!! I love you all devils, byeeeeeeeeeeee.
