I am a paradox.
I am neither happy nor sad.
I smile at pretty things, and laugh at funny things.
But late at night I become a mess of emotions and thoughts and I wish I could just disappear.

Our boat arrived in one piece, thankfully, and we stepped off.

The Dark Queen was back in her ropes, and I held onto them tightly.

"Um...Garroth...I've never been here an-" Travis started

"You can go back to Enki island if you want, Travis, but if you wish to stay then so be it. We have guest homes that you may use" I interrupted

The three of us walked through the streets of O'Khasis and I ignored the stares of the curious people. We finally arrived at the large castle and walked in the front doors.

I guided the Evil One down hallway after hallway. We arrived at the black wood doors of my father's office, and I knocked.

"Enter"

I walked inside. Father turned and his old eyes lit up at the sight of me...well the sight of the Dark Queen at my side.

"Good job, son" he walked over and placed his hands on her shoulders. I saw her tense and I tightened my grip on her ropes, trying to tell her to calm down.

Although her muscles were a little tense, she didn't tremble or flinch under my father's gaze.

"So nice to meet you, Dark Queen"

"Thank you, and it's Aphmau"

"Is her highness's room ready?" He asked a servant

"We didn't expect them to be back so soon" the servant replied.

"Very well," father sighed, "Garroth, take her to your room. We will deliver her clothes for dinner"

I untied the ropes and offered my arm. The Dark Queen took it and we walked down hallways.

We were silent.

We got to my room and a dark red dress was sitting on my bed.

(Basically the one at top, but more burgandy)

"So there's your dress, there's the bathroom. Get changed and call if you need anything" I went to my desk and started scribbling things I've noted about the Evil One.

"Could you help me with this zipper?" Her voice was small, like she was...afraid.

What could she be afraid of? I know im an assassin, but it's not like I did much to make her scared. I guess I can be intimidating, but she knows I'm not allowed to hurt her.

I walked up to her as she turned around.

Her wings..

I zipped the dress slowly and carefully. She dropped her black locks and turned back to face me, her face pale and her eyes filled with fear.

"Two things, what's wrong, and where are your wings?"

"I'm....worried because your father is extremely important and intimidating, I'm not very trusting of people. And this dress didn't have holes for my wings, so I'm currently hiding them"

"What do you mean....hiding them?"

"Without going into much detail, they're inside my back"

"And my father is more scared of you than you should be of him"

Her nerves seemed to have calmed. She breathed slowly and nodded.

"I can...make her holes for your wings if you want"

"That would be....amazing, but are you some seamstress?"

I grabbed some scissors off my desk and cut some holes.

"No..." I said focusing hard, "just really talented with sharp things"

I pulled away.

"Okay, give that a try"

"You decimated the zipper" she giggled looking in the full length mirror, "but it's beautiful, thank you" she threw her arms around my neck. I was taken back and awkwardly patted her hair.

Her wings slowly grew back and she seemed so relieved.

"So, why do I need the dress?"

"We're having a dinner, my father wants to make an agreement with you. We'll all be dressed up, so you won't stick out like a sore thumb." I explained. She nodded and slipped on the black strapped heels that waited for her.

"Should I do my hair in some way?"

"Just do whatever you think is best"

She nodded and sat at the vanity in my room. The servants left a bag of makeup and hair supplies for her if she felt like she needed it. I watched as she brushed her long black hair.

As she brushed, she hummed a soft melodious tune.

I shook my head and grabbed my suit, heading into my bathroom.

I put on the suit and made sure my mask was secure. I walked out into my room, straightening my tie. The Dark Queen looked over at me and smiled.

"You look very handsome in a suit" she complimented. I nodded towards her in acknowledgement and ran my hand through my hair.

"We should go, we don't want to keep him waiting too long"

She nodded and I offered my arm again. She gladly took it and we walked down the vacant halls, the only sound was our footsteps.

The sun was setting, and it's incandescent glow flooded through the windows, casting our shadows tall on the walls we passed.

We arrived at the dining hall. We all wore black suits, but each of us had a different coloured tie. Mine was a dark navy blue, Vylad wore a dark green, and Zane's was just black. My father stood with practiced form, with an even more practiced smile.

"Your highness" he greeted. Aphmau did a small bow.

"Lord Ro'Meave"

My mother wore a pure white gown, she stood up with her natural grace, and heart warming grin.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Evil One"

"The pleasure is all mine, Lady Ro'Meave, and Aphmau is fine"

"Very well, have a seat, Aphmau, and we can talk"

The Dark Queen nodded and took her respected seat.

I sat in my own seat, nodding to everyone.

"So...Evil One....let's talk business-"

"Pardon me, Lord Ro'Meave, but your son has informed me of what you want from me. And I agree, as long as I know I'm fighting for the right side, and what I'm doing is for the good of humanity"

"Of course it's for the good of humanity"

"Then I am perfectly happy and honoured to fight along sides of O'Khasis"

My parents exchanged a look of curiosity.

Father looked at the Dark Queen and smiled.

"Well then, tomorrow you will have special tutors training you, and informing you on everything you will need to know"

The Evil One nodded and took a bite of her food that arrived.

Wow....

A/N I just thought of an awesome thing to add later on! And you know what I stared reading just now? Mentallylove's Travlyn book, and I noticed it had something to do with demons and angels or something? I guess my fear is people will think I'm copying her, I swear I didn't. I'm just writing his in advance...anyways that makes me seem even more suspicious, whatever. I love you all devils, byeeee.
