Chapter 15 Rebels

(Aphmau's POV)

"What do you want me to do?" I asked him, sighing.

"Distract him, do something like get him to kiss you again. But we can't risk him being alert, you've played hard to get for long enough. Now, as soon as he sees you, he'll take the opportunity to talk to you. Tonight has to be the night that we have confirmed he has fallen for you"

I blew some bangs out of my face and walked out of my room, I was told he would be wondering the halls tonight, now it's just a matter of "bumping" into him.

(Garroth's POV)

I didn't know what to do. The Dark Queen was avoiding me, and I was worrying about my mission father had given me to make her fall in love with me.

I was currently laying down in my bed, unable to sleep at the late hour.

I heard footsteps outside my door, so I became curious. I ran to my bedroom door and peeked out, just in time to see Vylad round a corner. I grabbed my hood and soundlessly ran after him.

He went down the servant's stairs, leaving the door open slightly so it wouldn't lock behind him. I followed him until we got to the garden. I hid behind a tree while a cloaked figure came to talk to him.

"The rebellion is growing impatient, do you have the information, your highness?"

Rebellion?

"Sorry, I ran into a few difficulties, but I have the information right here" he handed the figure a stack of papers.

"Any updates on the Dark Queen?"

Aphmau....

"She still has him in phase one of oblivion"

"Very well, we will contact you if needed"

They started to walk away, so I ran away into the castle, taking the long way to my room. If I was going to track down the rebels, I would need my belt with all of the magic powders and potions, not to mention my sword and various other blades an-

"Garroth?"

Aphmau was walking down the hallway. and she shut down all of my previous thoughts.

"Aphmau? What are you doing up? It's late"

"I couldn't sleep, what are you doing up?"

"I couldn't sleep either" I lied, leaning up against a wall. I was glad we were having the moment to talk, and I couldn't pass this up.

"Can we talk?" We said in unison. We laughed and then fell silent.

"You go first" I insisted, she nodded and took a deep breath.

"I'm sorry I've been avoiding you, I just...I'm shocked about the kiss. Mostly...I'm shocked about how much I've been thinking about it, and I guess I want to know....why did you kiss me?" She was playing with her hair, and looking at me with a look of admiration.

"When I look at you, I don't see a monster or a demon, I see an angel. A beautiful young woman, with a heart as pure as snow. You hide your strength, but it's there. I kissed you because you intrigue me"
