Oh no, don't cry.
Every tear that falls from your chin, is only another sign to show how weak you are.
You don't want to appear pathetic,
Do you?

•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•I knocked on her door, my heart beating abnormally fast, and annoyingly loud. The sound thudded in my ears, obviously reminding me of my nerves that were currently on fire, along with my blushing face.
My face...
I felt so exposed without my mask. Oh well, it's for the greater good.
She opened the door and my heart stopped beating. I felt breathless at the sight of her. She saw my suit and smiled widely, her cute little fangs showing.
"Hello, Aphmau, you look beautiful tonight" I smiled softly.
"Garroth, you look amazing. And you have the most...handsome smile" she breathed. I held out my hand, smiling a little wider.
"Shall we?"
"We shall"
She placed her hand in mine, and I guided her out of the castle. We walked hand in hand, talking and laughing with each other.
We got to a restaurant and sat down in the seats I had reserved on the roof.
I pulled her chair out for her, and I sat in my own chair. She looked across to me, grinning like a kid on Christmas.
"I gotta say, I'm surprised you asked me on this date" she finally spoke up.
"Really? Why?"
"Well...you never really showed an interest in me"
"Well there is an interest" I said matter-of-factly, her face blossomed into a light pink blush, and she tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear.
We ordered our food and ate, talking about random things that were irrelevenet, but it still felt like each word meant the world.
After dinner, we went on a small walk.
Our hands laced together as we walked along the calm beach.
"What's your biggest fear?" Aphmau asked, looking off into the vast ocean. I thought for a moment, wondering which of my fears I was afraid of the most.
"Being controlled. Someone trying to make me do things I would never do. What's yours?"
"Dying a monster..."
"Aphmau-"
"I don't want to die, and the only thing people will remember is the dark, evil, stories about me that aren't true. I want to die an angel"
"You're already an angel" I whispered. I saw pink dusting her cheeks, and I smirked.
"Okay, tell me a secret" she pulled me over to a field and laid down, looking up at the stars. I laid beside her and looked up at the dancing balls of light.
"I don't have magic"
"Yes you do, I can sense it"
"Well I don't know how to activate it"
"You'll figure it out eventually, I know you will"
"Okay, now you tell me a secret"
She pondered for a moment, and wondered what she should revel to me.
"You know, I used to live with humans. And they were overall pretty nice. But sometimes there'd be one person who treated me like a monster. Sometimes, the other kids would beat me up. I fell into a deep depression. Sometimes, people would ask if I was alright, and I would always tell them I was okay, but deep down I wanted them to hug me tight and and tell me they know I'm not"
I placed my hand over hers, trying to communicate without words. It's harder than it sounds.
After stargazing for awhile, we walked back to the castle. I walked her to her room and we paused outside her door.
"Goodnight, Aphmau" I whispered.
"Goodnight, Garroth"
She opened the door and disappeared behind it. I sighed aloud as it closed. I shoved my hands in my pockets and walked down the halls, whistling.
Moonlight peered through the windows, spilling out onto the tile and dimly lighting the halls. I paused at a window and looked out. I saw Vylad talking to a hooded figure.
They talked for a little, and I couldn't see the face behind the hood. Suddenly they looked around them worriedly. Vylad ran into the castle, and the figure ran off. I leaned against a shadowed corner, narrowing my eyes at the dim light the moon created.
I heard footsteps about fifty feet away. By the speed, weight, and form of running, I could tell it was Vylad.
Twenty feet away, and he was now slowing down and trying to steady his breathing. He slowed to a walk, and as he passed me...
"So who was that?"
He jumped and turned to my corner.
"Garroth?"
"Answer my question, Vylad"
"It was no concern of yours"
"It is my concern of what my baby brother is doing in secret!"
"No, it isn't! And I'm not a baby anymore, Garroth!"
I rolled my eyes and scoffed.
"Remember who I am, you can't hide from me!"
"Please, I'm stronger than you ever will be!"
He stormed off. I sighed and lowered my head.
"Not how I wanted that to go"
I walked out of the castle, deciding not to find the cloaked figure. I went to my house, pushing open the door and looking around.
It felt so empty, and so cold.
I knelt by the fireplace, grabbing some fire dust and sprinkling it on the logs. It lit into a warm flame, and I sat cross legged in front of it. I poked at it lazily and let out another sigh.
"Aww, look at the little lovesick puppy"
I gritted my teeth and reluctantly turned to the mirror.
"What do you want?"
"I feel sorry for you, you know you can't have her. You know something's wrong, and something will go wrong. Like last time"
"Shut up!"
"How much did you love Zoey?"
"You don't know what the hell you're talking about!"
"But I do, I'm you, after all"
"Then you know how she died. You know it's your fault"
"It wasn't! I tried to save her!"
"And in turn, you were the death of her"
"Shut up, shut up, SHUT UP"
"You can't have her. You can't love anyone ever again"
I screamed and threw my stoking stick at the mirror. It shattered and the broken glass fell to the ground.
I collapsed to the ground, sobbing.
Zoey.... I'm sorry...
A/N So Garroth had already found love? How did she die? Was it Garroths fault? We may never know....nah I'm just kidding, you'll find out eventually. I love you all devils, byeee.
