Gally: He'd spent the whole night in the homestead, head in hands, refusing to talk to anyone. When the maze doors opened the next morning, he didn't even flinch. He thought nothing of it when he heard yelling from near the maze entrance around midday, but when Frypan threw open the homestead door mere moments later looking astounded, it caught his attention.

"Y/N's alive."

They were the words he never thought he'd hear, and before Frypan could add any more detail, Gally was out the door.

Within the next minute, he was at your side, holding your hand as the medjacks held you down and injected you with the grief serum. He knew, deep down, that you'd never be the same after this; nobody ever was. The serum brought back memories to people that they'd hoped to never see again, and the Changing was supposed to be unbearable. But, he'd be there for you, through it all, and if you still wanted him at the end of it, he'd be there still.

He'd never lose you again.

Minho: Once the medjacks had patched up his swollen hands, Minho began pacing

Minho: Once the medjacks had patched up his swollen hands, Minho began pacing. He walked back and forwards beside the maze entrance, refusing to go to sleep even when ordered to by Alby. There was no way he was leaving his spot. He wanted to be right there when those doors opened in the early morning. He wanted to see for himself that you were gone.

After a long night spent in agitation, the ground finally began to shake, and the huge doors began to rumble open. They'd barely left a metre wide gap when a figure pushed its way through from the maze, falling to the ground at the doors. Minho was right there to turn them over. When he was greeted with your smiling face, panting but barely scratched, he was overcome with emotion. His eyes filled with tears, and he began to sob. You'd never seen Minho cry before, but the sight of it was more than enough to make you cry too. The two of you remained there, holding each other close, while the rest of the glade watched on in disbelief. Your survival was the closest thing they'd felt to hope in a long time.

Newt: Although Newt's current state of mind was somewhat expected, it put Alby on high alert

Newt: Although Newt's current state of mind was somewhat expected, it put Alby on high alert. He guided the boy back to his bed shortly after the doors had closed, opting to check on him throughout the night to check he was still okay. Newt didn't sleep; instead he stared at the ceiling, thinking and feeling nothing. He was sure the whole glade could burn down around him and he wouldn't even notice. In the morning, the maze doors opened, and those around him got up to see if you'd made it back, but Newt stayed behind. He couldn't bring himself to get up, to continue life without you. None of it felt right; it was as if the world went by around him and he was frozen in time, a mere spectator to this bizarre world without you in it. Various gladers came and went, all failing to get him out of bed. He couldn't read their emotions, didn't register their words, and barely even felt their presence, but when one face in particular appeared above his, he was shocked out of his stupor.

"Y/N?" he croaked.

You smiled in relief when his confused eyes met yours, having been informed of his depressive state.

"Didn't think I'd go down that easy, did you?"

He smiled back, and although you were aware of Alby and Minho watching on, you pressed your lips to his, knowing that your night of horror had been worth it, even if just for this moment with him. You knew you had to make it back for this boy, and this kiss was your way of letting him know why.

Thomas: Thomas headed straight to his bed the second those doors had closed

Thomas: Thomas headed straight to his bed the second those doors had closed. He refused to speak to anyone, knowing they'd held him back from possibly saving you. What was to say that he couldn't have found you and brought you back in time, or helped you to survive the night? Now there was nothing he could do but wait, angry at everyone who'd stopped him from going back in there after you.

When morning came, Thomas ran straight out into the maze, checking around every nook and corner, hoping to stumble across you. He was nearing the end of his route when he heard a distinctive cry for help.

"Y/N", he whispered, confirming it to himself.

He headed in the direction of your call, increasingly hopeful now.

When he rounded his third corner, he was simultaneously alarmed and relieved; you lay in a crumpled heap against the wall, clutching your leg. Deep gashes coated your body like noughts and crosses, and your blood was splattered on the ground around you. Thomas was quick into action, scooping you up and hurrying back to the glade, unable to fathom how you were still alive. By the time you were both back at the glade, Thomas was in tears. Adrenaline had worn off and the relief of having found you alive took over. You were going to be okay, and although e hadn't saved you from a night in the maze, he had brought you back to safety. As long as you were safe, nothing else mattered.
