Its been a week since we found the messages.
We took it straight to the police and they did there own investigation to find out it was Jefferson.
Before Jefferson was arrested, he killed Nathan Prescott.
They had a funeral that neither Chloe or I attended even after the invitation we were handed by Kate.
We both thought it was our fault.
If we didn't go to the police Jefferson wouldn't have gone after him.
When the police did there investigation they found other girls too.
Apparently he had binders with their names.
Chloe was on one of those binders.
She was next.
I called my parents and they were proud we brought her to justice, but sorry about what had happen to her.
But the thing that makes me the saddest.
Is they want me to come back.
---
I shove the last of my clothes in my suitcase and close it. I look around the room to see it as it was the day I came.
I open my door to see Principal Wells waiting. I hand him the keys and he smiles.
"Thank you Max." He said. I simply nodded with a smile.
I walked out towards the parking lot to see an all to familiar rusty pickup truck.
A smile crept on my face as I saw a blue haired girl smoking in the passenger seat. She looks towards me and I see her eyes light up as she opens the door and walks to me.
"Ready to go home SuperMax?" She asks with a smile as she let's the cigarette fall to the ground.
"Yeah.." I say looking up at her. She smiles as she throws her arm around my shoulder. She leads me to the passenger side and opens the door, I climb in and close the door. She soon appears on my left side starting the car.
We drive in silents and soon arrive at the airport. She helps me to the door with my bags. Chloe goes as far as she can go, considering she doesn't have a ticket and hands me my stuff.
"Well... This is goodbye." I say. Breaking the silence. She looked at me with tears fighting to break free, but she fought back harder.
"I don't like to say goodbye... I like to say see you later." She said. I looked up at her to see her smile. Her eyes as blue and beautiful as they were the day I met her.
"Well... See you later." I say with a smile. I grab my suitcase and turn around. I take two steps and run back towards Chloe. My arms wrap around her neck, she tenses up but quickly hugs me back
"See you soon." She says as she pushes me away. I nod, my vision slightly blurr with tears. I turn around, suitcase in hand, and walk to the terminal.
------
I get home to see my mom in the kitchen cooking my favorite dinner.
Meatloaf.
She says hi and hugs me. I walk upstairs and into my room, I see nothing has moved.
I throw my bags on my bed and start to unpack. Just as I put the last thing away I'm called to dinner. Once I arrive I sit at my usual seat.
We eat and talk. Mom and dad tell me they are proud of me for bring the bad guy down. After dinner I help my mom wash dishes.
"Maxine... What's wrong?" She asks as she scrubs a plate.
"Max never Maxine. And nothing." I say, not looking at her as I dry the pot. I hear the sink stop running and I look up to see my mom staring at me.
"Maxin- Max. I know when your lying, after all I'm your mom. So I'll ask again. What's wrong." She says sturnly. I fall into her arms.
"I-I met someone and I didn't want to leave them." I say.
"Its okay Max." She says as she strokes my hair.
"Mom... What's love?" I ask. She pulls away with a surprised look on her face but soon replaces it with a loving one.
"Love... Love is when you look at someone and say. 'I want to spend the rest of my life with you.' Love is when you give someone the opportunity to hurt you, trusting they won't." She says, she brushes a strand of hair out of my face. "Love is something beautiful."
I hug her and she hugs me back we stay like this for awhile.
I then go upstairs and lay in bed.
I stare at the ceiling that night.
I couldn't sleep.
The only thought I could think of was...
I am in love with Chloe Price.
---
After an hour I decide to go downstairs and watch some TV. I get dressed in a baggy T-shirt and go downstairs.
Just as I sit I hear a knock on the door. I groan but get up and answer it.
"Hey Max.." The blue haired girl on the other side said.
"Chloe?" I asked. She smirked and looked at her feet.
"Um... You forgot your umm.. Pictures." She said. She hands me the two photos I took. I smiled and looked up at her.
"Thanks Chloe." I said. "But is that the only reason you came here?"
She looked at me with wide eyes as I noticed something was up.
"Uh.. N-No..." She finally said. She looked down, cleared her throat and looked back at me with a smirk. "I needed to do something."
"Wh-" I was interrupted as she slammed her soft lips on mine. Her lips moved as if she done this a thousand times before. I didn't hesitate to kiss her back and melt in her grip. Her arms wrapped around my waist as mine held her chest.
"Wowser.." I said as I pulled away.
"You're hella a dork." She said as she put her lips back on mine. And just like that...
Time stopped.
