Terra di Ricordi | Ladynoir

With her legs dangling with the cold wind, Ladybug sighed blissfully as she gazed at the beautiful city beneath her. Memories started to cloud her mind – and there is this one memory that she will never ever forget.

Earlier that day, her Physics teacher, Ms. Mendeleiev, already distributed their exam papers about the test that she really studied for. But, when Ms. Mendeleiev approached her seat to give Marinette her test paper, she told her that she was utterly disappointed with Marinette's grade. Turns out Marinette got a failing grade, which completely ruined her day.

A loud thud was heard from behind, indicating that her annoying partner already arrived at their patrol spot which is, by the way, on top of the famous Eiffel Tower. Ladybug just rolled her eyes, not in the mood to turn her back and talk to Chat like what she usually does every time her kitty comes.

Chat pouted as he tilted his head in curiosity, pressing the paw button on his baton to put it back to its original length. He slowly paced his way to Ladybug, who is still not uttering a single word to him.

She is acting strange today.

He quietly stood beside her with his hands placed on his hips, trying to avert his attention to the city beneath them but his mind always wanders back to the distressed Ladybug. What's wrong with her?

Chat cleared his throat, in attempt to get her attention but he failed unfortunately. Nevertheless, he looked down to her figure, saying, "Hey, my lady! You are too silent, eh? Let us chat to lighten up the atmosphere!"

How can he tell her the four words he practiced for a year if she is acting like this? For sure, everything will go downhill.

"Not in the mood, Chat," she mumbled rudely. "just do not talk to me, please."

He was taken a back by the sudden outburst of his lady, causing for his ears to droop in disappointment.

Perhaps today is not the day.

Chat thought that leaving her alone would help her cool off so he stepped back, saying. "Sorry for bothering you, Ladybug. I will leave instead. Um, just call me if you need me. I-I love y-you."

He was disappointed, utterly and tragically disappointed. Chat turned his back from Ladybug, and started walking away from her spot. He let out a defeated sigh as he extended his baton to help him get down the tall tower. He was already ready to leave their patrol spot, until a force pulled back his long tail, causing for him to stumble back to the cold, metallic surface.

Ladybug leisurely let go of his tail, biting her lip as she eyed him sheepishly. He looked at her with a confused expression. She just avoided his gaze, and said, "Please do not leave," Ladybug let out a sigh. "I-I need someone to t-talk to."

His face softened, glad that his lady still needs him. Well, sort of. She just wanted someone to talk to—that does not mean that she needs him, right? Chat just shrugged it off, and slowly nodded at her. He plopped himself on the metallic ground, ushering her to take the spot next to him. Ladybug reluctantly obliged, before sitting beside him. She just stared into space as their legs dangled together, and that indicated Chat to start his heart-to-heart conversation with his lady.

"Did something happen, LB?" he asked softly, earning a slight nod from Ladybug. Chat stared at her as he bit his lip, anxious that she might suddenly push him way if he asks her what happened. He decided to be quiet for a while, before asking her. "Can you tell me why? I-I mean it is okay if you d-do not want to."

She shook her head, before a small smile appeared on her lips, "No, I do not mind telling it to you, kitty." Ladybug gazed at her lap, before leaning her head to his left shoulder. "It is just a petty reason, honestly. Maybe after telling it to you, you would probably laugh your butt off."

"I do not think I would, my lady." he mumbled, slightly smiling at her. "If something makes my bugaboo sad or disappointed, automatically I feel the same towards it, too. And, I would do anything to make you happy again, Ladybug."

Ladybug's cheeks instantly grew pink because of his remark, before letting out a low giggle. Shaking her head, she smiled warmly, "You are crazy, kitty."

"Crazy for you, that is," Chat winked at her, while she just playfully rolled her eyes at him. "So, what is bugging my lady?"

She pouted, averting her eyes to the city, "I failed my Physics exam, which I really studied for! My Physics teacher even told me that she was disappointed with my grade, and that just made it a lot worse."

Ladybug sighed in exasperation as she gazed at the serene city. Chat just stared at her with his eyebrows furrowed. Verily, he saw how disappointed Ladybug was when she was telling it to him. Perhaps she is not used to having low grades, unlike him. He squinted his eyes as he thought of something that could make his lady happy again, and in an instant, an idea popped into his head.

Well, perhaps today is the day.

"C-Chat!" Ladybug tightly looped her arms around his neck as the cold night breeze kissed her face—sending chills down her spine, literally. She nuzzled into Chat's neck for warmth, but it only lasted a minute or two when Ladybug lifted her head to look at the black cat with a puzzled look. "W-Where are we g-going?"

He just smirked at her, and winked, "You will see."

To sum it all up, Chat decided to take his Ladybug to the amusement park not far from Paris, which is Terra di Ricordi, after their exhausting battle against an akuma a while ago. He remembered Ladybug mentioning to him before that she loved going to amusement parks, and that it helps her forget her problems, may it be her hero duties or personal problems. Of course, Chat took a mental note of that. He did not really know that it would be useful one day.

Like during that day.

When the large, white ferris wheel came into his view, the corners of his mouth curved into a grin. Chat averted his eyes to Ladybug, whose eyes are fluttered close because of the wind brushing to her face. He held her tighter, before saying. "Do not worry, my lady. We are almost there."

Truly, they were almost there. In an instant, Chat landed on his feet to the pavement—slowly settling down Ladybug in the process. He placed his staff at his back, then placed his hands on his hips with a grin on his face as he waited for his lady's reaction.

Her bluebell eyes widened in surprise, before slowly averting her eyes to the beaming kitty. "Terra di Ricordi," that unforgettable memory started to replay again in her head, causing for her to grin widely.

Ladybug glanced at her ring finger, a beautiful diamond ring met her eyes, "...the place where you proposed to me."

Sorry for the delay of the updates! Got writer's block, but everything's okay now! I suppose I need to briefly explain this one-shot to the readers who were confused while reading it.

Basically, the start of the one-shot is Ladybug reminiscing an unforgettable memory (at this point I guess you already know what she was talking about, lol) And after my first set of asterisks, Ladybug and Chat Noir were already in college, and they were both 20 years old. Yes, they are together and yes, Ms. Mendeleiev's still her Physics teacher. Then, after the second set of asterisks, that's already the present time where they were already married.

The English translation of Terra di Ricordi is Land of Memories, by the way.

Anyways, yes I know this one-shot is a lot shorter compared to my other one-shots and I would like to tell you that my upcoming one-shots will be short like this one, too. Long short stories are kinda boring and lazy to read, right?

That's all for this author's note! Don't forget to leave a vote and comment, it means a lot to me! Thanks for reading!
