My class before lunch was my easiest class. It wasn't an advanced class because something went wrong in the computers and I ended up here.
"Oh my, Jaida. I forgot you were coming and I just- The only seat we have is the one in the back. Boys and... Red... don't pull any stunts on her. She's the smartest in this class."
The boy in the back put his hands up in defense.
"I would never, Mr. Wilson. Never."
I sat in the back of the class. It was so hard listening to the teacher when all I could hear were their obnoxious conversations about girls and parties.
But it got quiet.
"Jaida... Tell me what Shakespeare meant in this poem. What are his emotions? What are his goals?"
"Well Shakespeare didn't have the emotions. Romeo and Juliet had the emotions. Romeo couldn't bare to be in a world without Juliet so he died. Their love was dangerous, I guess."
I turned to see the boys all staring at me. Their heads resting in their hand.
"Damn. I'd like to see that big mouth fit around this-"
"You're disgusting."
"No. I'm Red."
The boys laughed the whole class period. Red impersonated me multiple times.
I rushed out of class to lunch. When I got to the table, Makayla and Vanessa had no lunches.
"We'd rather not. The lunches are nasty. We eat after school."
I sat down and they told me about their dramatic lives.
"So those tables over there have some pretty nice kids. And those tables over there would probably tear your 'A.P. Short Ass' into pieces. So why did you come here? Was it nicer in Bel- Wow, um. Vanessa, look at the way Red's staring at Jaida."
Vanessa went pale.
"Yeah, he looked at me a lot today. What a douche." I said.
Makayla frowned at my choice of words.
"You looked at Red. It's final. You're fucked. Your year is over."
I turned my head to look at him and she gasped.
"You've got that dreadful Red disease. He looks at any girl and she's hooked." Makayla whispered.
"I guess you could call it the "Dreadful Redful." Vanessa added.
I shrugged it off and ate my sandwich. Fuck Red. I'd rather date an eighty year old man, to be honest.
