Chapter 9

I shouldn't have thought about what Tailyn said. It was stupid to take this stuff to heart, but I did. He would want a girl that wouldn't get attached, or want a relationship. He wanted no strings attached. He didn't want a leash on him, and I would expect a real relationship if I was with him. He wants a girl that gets as high as he does.

I sat on the couch with Tailyn smoking right next to me.

"Light me one." I told her. She lit one and held it in front of my face.

"You smoke?" she asked with a confused tone. I shrugged.

I was a baddie.

But as soon as I put the cigarette in my lips, the door busted open.

"Sorry that took such a long time, Jaida. I was with my buddy Rocco and he was telling me about how-"

His eyes locked with the cigarette in my mouth. I inhaled it because I panicked, and I had a coughing fit. My mouth was so dry; but my lungs hurt like hell. Red pulled it out of my mouth and crushed it.

reds pov

"Why did you crush my cigarette? I was enjoying it." she choked out.

"You don't look like you enjoyed it."

She laughed in embarrassment.

"She said she was a smoker so I gave her one of my Marlboros." Tailyn said.

Jaida frowned a bit. "I thought you'd think I was hotter." she laughed.

My eyes followed her lips when she was talked. I wanted to kiss her, bad. But she didn't know me, and I didn't know her.

"So why'd you move here out of all the places you could have gone?" I asked her.

"My dad had been dating an actor out in LA... They had been talking on the computer for a very long time. And when my mom found out, I guess she just told him to move to LA with the girl, and we moved to San Antonio for a fresh start."

jaidas pov

Red put his hand around mine. But I didn't know if I should let him do that. I wouldn't want to commit to someone that would end up cheating on me. I pulled my hand out of his.

"There's something wrong." He said.

"Everything's fine, Red."

"No. What did Tailyn tell you?"

He must know Tailyn very well.

"She said that me and you would be cute together." I lied.

"Oh."

I had to lie. If I told him What actually happened, I'd probably get yelled at by Tailyn. And then Red would leave me.

"We would be." Red added to his sentence.

I smiled at him. He is too cut- wait. He thinks we'd be cute together?
