The unknown.

That's what police officers go into every day. They don't know when the next loss is going to be. Or whether it will happen to them. It keeps happening all around us. And sometimes even in our own hometown.

They keep us safe every second of every day and many times without publicity.

Officers thought it would be a peaceful "Black Lives Matter" protest last Thursday night in Dallas. But the unexpected happened.

A sniper fired on 12 Dallas police officers. Sadly, a current total count of 5 out of the 12 have passed away.

Hundreds of citizens were caught around the gunfire. One woman came to the protest with her four sons. While running from the gunfire she was hit in the leg. Several officers, who were mostly white, shielded her and covered her sons as they ran. As they shielded her, one of the officers went down. One man spoke out that an officer pushed him out of the way. These people were black. That should prove even more that officers are NOT racists.

They put their lives on the line for anyone and everyone. They walk into the unknown for citizens, no matter the skin color. All for you. Don't take what they do for granted. Remember, this nation would fall apart without them standing on the thin blue line, separating innocent citizens from violent criminals.

Thank an officer today. Pray for Dallas police officers, their families, and our whole country. We couldn't stay safe without our local heroes, putting themselves in the line of fire.
