Evie's POV
Mal sat up screaming. It took me forever to wake her from whatever nightmare she was having.
"Mal, shhh its okay." I said hugging her. She was crying.
"E-Evie.. I-I.. W-what happened.." she said not able to make words. I rubbed her back.
"Mal, it was just a dream.. Its okay." I said and felt her arms wrap around my neck. She was scared.
"Do you need some water?" I said pulling out of the hug and handing her a glass. She nodded and took the cup.
"Thanks.." she said and looked down awkwardly. "Evie.. That dream, it wasn't normal.. Something was.. Strange about it.." she said, I looked at her.
"Like what?" I said. She shook her head.
"You were there.. And Ben.." Mal looked like she was gonna cry again. I lifted her head with my hand.
"Mal, tell me what happened.. I promise I'm right here for you." I said and she looked deeply into my eyes.
"Evie, you broke with me, insisting I still liked Ben, his father had had a heart attack and he tried to get back together with me.. Then before I woke up.. I fell and hit my head." she said rubbing her head like it hurt. I laughed a little and pulled her closer to me.
"Mal, I would never break up with you.. You know that." I said and she smiled with tears in her eyes again.
"I know.. I was just scared E.. Because I couldn't lose you.." she confessed again. I smiled at her.
"And I couldn't lose you." I said and kissed her forehead. "Try and get some sleep. It's 2 in the morning." I said and she looked over at the clock.
"Oh.. Sorry for waking you.." she said and I rolled my eyes.
"Don't be, I was glad you did." I said and went back to my bed.

Mal's POV
Evie walked over to her bed and I tried to go back to sleep, but I couldn't.
"M, you still awake?" Evie asked and I laughed.
"Yeah.. I can't sleep.. Not after that." I said honestly. Evie got up and turned on our light.
"Come on, I have an idea." Evie said. I stood up and followed her out of our room quickly. Evie grabbed my hand and started to drag me throught the halls, I had absolutely no idea where she was taking me, but I'm glad she was, this was definitely helping me get my mind off of that aweful nightmare. I smiled as we left the school and continued to run to wherever Evie was taking me.
