Chapter 26 - Crazy

Melanie's POV
I looked at Mal for the first time, I was actually looking at her.
"Well Mal? Can you do this? If you do.. You loose your power to be a dragon." Kostur said and I was very confused.
"What does he mean Mal?" I asked and Mal frowned then looked at Evie. I realized what was happening.
"Go ahead Mal.. I know how much she means to you." I said and a tear fell from her eye.
"I'm really sorry.." Mal said and lifted the knife. I braced myself.

Mal's POV
I stepped closer to Melanie and held up the knife. She flinched and I stabbed her through the heart. She grabbed over the knife and I fell to the floor, Kostur never told me it would hurt this much. I looked up at Mel as she fell to the floor, a golden glow was emmiting from her, it went straight to Evie. Evie shot straight up.
"What happened?!" she asked and saw me and Melanie on the floor. I felt a very sharp pain in my chest. She hot up and ran over to me.
"Mal are you alright?!" she asked in a panicked voice. I shook my head and started to cry.
"E.. She's dead, I will always have to live with this pain!" I started to shout. Evie backed away a little, knowing not to mess with me when I was mad.
"Hey Mal, there is one way to bring her back.. You just wont be able to see her anymore." Kostur said and I nodded.
"Please anything." I said and Kostur picked her up.
"Seeya around Mal." he said and him and Wolvin dissapeared into the portal.
"Mal what were you thinking?!" Evie screamed at me. I turned away.
"I was thinking I wanted my friend back." I said and Evie scoffed.
"Mal, you are the most selfless person I know, but killing Melanie was so not you!" she said and I started to cry.
"Evie I did this for you! I thought you'd be happy!" I got up and walked out of the room slaming the door. I ran to Jane's room as fast as I could.
