WHAT IF?

The Cure Part 2

Laurent, Larry, April and Junior continues their on the way to the south.

Author's POV:
They faced many zombie battles as they traveled towards the southern states of America. So far, no survivors had been found. Larry's speech has improved. But his vision as non existent. However, his other senses became keen. Once they made it to the border of Atlanta , there was a huge dome blocking off the roads.

Laurent's POV:
"Oh my god." I said and looked at April.

We were dead silent.

"Why is everyone quiet? What's wrong?" Larry asked.
"There's a huge ball in front of us." Junior answered.
"Huge ball? Laurent, what's he talking about?" Larry asked.
"It appears there's a dome covering the roads." Laurent said.
"Let's check the radio stations." April suggested as she turned the radio knobs in the car.

She finally reached a station where someone cried out,

"Is anybody out there? I'm calling from the CDC Headquarters. We need help."
"Laurent, the CDC Headquarters is in Atlanta, Georgia." April mentioned.
"You're right. The government must have put it in place in attempts to protect the Headquarters. They might even have a more effective cure then the one I created. We gotta get in there." I said as I continued to think.
"Laurent, what about the message on the radio? There's probably zombies inside. If we go in, we might be making a way out for them." Larry suggested.
"So what are we supposed to do?" I frustratingly asked.

Author's POV:
They shoot their guns at the dome several times. But it didn't break. Then Junior came up with an idea.

"Why don't we just dig under the dome?"

They agreed to do so. After they crawled out the ground they were on the other side of the dome. The only thing that could be seen was the CDC Headquarters. They stayed close to each other and they moved towards the building.

"Stop." Larry whispered.

Everyone stopped.

"What is it?" Laurent whispered.
"There's one near us." Larry whispered.

Junior climbed on April's back. April took the safety off her gun. Laurent and Larry did the same. In the blink of an eye, a zombie appear right in front of Larry. Larry began to twitch as his white eyes turned red. Larry growled at the zombie. The zombie backed down and ran. April and Laurent were in complete shock.

"Larry? You okay?" Laurent fearfully asked.

Larry faced Laurent with silent red eyes. And suddenly, his eyes changed back to white.

"Laurent? You okay?" Larry confusingly asked.
"I'm fine. Come on...lets keep moving. Larry, I want to to stay behind us and be our look out." Laurent replied.

Larry agreed and they headed inside the building. As they walked down the dark and quiet hallways, they feared the worst.

"Stop." Larry whispered again.

Everyone stopped and had their guns ready to fire.
