Chapter 13.

James groaned and slumped back to his chair. He somewhat felt guilty for doing that to Bret since the guy didn't do anything to him. But he just can't help but feel sour when Bret's acting all friendly around Nadine, He feels as if Nadine shouldn't hang out with Bret.

'Just what the hell? I've only known her one day and I act as if she's mine. I don't even know if she considers me as a friend.' James said to himself and groans again.

"Hey, James!" A familiar voice greeted. He looked up to see a girl he knows her but he can't remember her name exactly.

"Uh, hi. Joanna?" He asked.

The girl lost her smile and her eyebrows meet.

"Joanna? It's me! Sofia! Sofia Andres." Sofia said.

"Ah... So what do you want?" James asked, sounding uninterested because he really is not. He didn't care though if he sounded rude, he can do whatever he wants.

Sofia sat on the chair next to him, crossed her legs making sure her skirt rides up to her thigh and leans a to make her bust noticeable.

"So what are you doing after school, hmm?" She asked in a seductive way while battling her eyelashes.

"Maybe go with the guys or review for tomorrow's long quiz at Music. Why do you ask?" -James.

"AHAHA! Really? You still still review? You are the most intelligent student here at Aces so why bother reviewing?" Sofia asked.

James raised his right brow. "Because I want to?"

"Aw come on, James! How about you, me go party tonight at NightLife Bar later at 10:00?" Sofia asked still battling her lashes.

(A/N: What? I couldn't think of a great name for a bar. Well there is one. 'Careless Whisper' what do you guys think? Yep or Nah?).

"Uh, do you have something in your eye?" -James.

Sofia laughed in a flirty manner. "Silly! No, so what? You coming?"

"Nope. Like I said, I still have to review for tomorrow's quiz." James said.

"Ugh! Come on! Just one night!" -Sofia.

"No. I don't really like partying." He lied, he's just not in the mood for partying.

"Please? For me?" Sofia pleaded while pouting.

'Is this what Nadine calls Paawa' James thought.

"Sorry Hannah, but it's still a no. Have fun tho." -James.

Sofia was about to say something but unfortunately their teacher arrived.

"Good morning class! Now before we start, I heard there's a new student here. Can you please introduce yourself here at the front? Thank you." -Teacher.

James heard a chair being pulled back from behind him, he turned his head around to see Nadine.

'I thought she has class with Bret?!' James thought.

But deep inside he was kinda happy.

"Ugh, I can't believe I have classes with this loser." He heard Sofia whisper, he looked at her with a glare.

He wanted to say "Shut up ka na lang." But he kept his cool.

"Nadine Lustre is my name. Nice to meet you." Nadine said then walked back to her seat.

"Okay, class! Turn your book on page 61 and answer from Activity A-B save your answers on you computer and oh, I am allowing you to have a partner. Boy and girl only, I'll come back later." -Teacher.

James immediately turned to Nadine who already answered question 1-4.

"Psst! Nadz?! Can we be--"

"James, your my partner, okay? Great!" Sofia said.

"Actually, I was asking Nadine to be my partner. Sorry, Stella." James said and called out Nadine's name again.

"It's Sofia! S-O-F-I-A."

"Yeah, yeah whatever you say, Solen."

"Nadine! Yoo-hoo! Can we be partners?! Pliith?!" He pleaded, Nadine paused her work and then she glanced up on him and gave him a curt nod.

James grinned, he picked up his book then went then sat to the empty chair next to her and then they started to answer.

Sofia 'hmph'-ed and rolled her eyes.

Meanwhile...

Liza was listening to her teacher's extremely boring discussion something about constellations.

She yawned and propped her chin on her knuckles, she was bored and sleepy.

"You sleepy?" Enrique asked from beside her.

"Yep." She answered.

"Would you like to have a chocolate? Chocolate could help boost your energy." He asked.

"That could work, thanks." -Liza.

Enrique took some chocolates from his pocket and handed it out to Liza. She opened one from underneath her table so their teacher won't see and quickly popped it in her mouth.

"How 'bout you?" -Liza.

"It's okay, I still have more here in my bag." -Enrique.

Liza only nodded and turned her attention back to their teacher.

"Guys, I'll give you a topic and report it on Thursday. By pair." Their teacher announced. "Your partner is the one next to you, I'll write the topics here in the board then tell me which one you choose."

Enrique tapped Liza, "Can we be partners?"

Liza agreed since she doesn't know anyone from this class.

"Yeah. What's our topic?" -Liza.

Enrique looked at the board, their teacher wrote the different planets and the different constellations.

"How about planet Jupiter?" -Enrique.

"Great, tell him." -Liza.

Enrique raised his hand and waved it a little so he could get his teacher's attention.

"Sir! Sir! Me and Liza choose planet Jupiter for our report!" -Enrique.

Their teacher wrote their names under their selected topic and gave them an 'okay'-sign.

"We can do it later in your house." Liza said.

"I was thinking about doing it at your house."

"We can't. It's too messy and you wouldn't be comfortable."

"Uh, sure, sure. I'll meet you at the school gate later after school." -Enrique.

"M'kay." -Liza.
