Chapter 26.

Enrique Gil's house, Farah Village- 5:45 PM...

It's been 10 hours and all they're doing now is play video games using Enrique's PlayStation. James vs Alden. Nadine's sleeping on the sofa, her head on Liza's lap who was watching the two guys play. Enrique, he went to the supermarket to buy some foods to cook for dinner.

Liza gently keeps on brushing Nadine's hair and sometimes massaging her scalp.

*ding dong ding dong ding dong*

"Ah Liza? Can you please open the door? I'm about to beat James here!" Alden asked.

"Hn..." Liza slowly, gently lifted Nadine's head and carefully slipped a pillow under her head then ran towards the front door. She took a look thru the peep hole and saw it was Quen carrying 3 paper bags filled with his groceries.

She unlocked the door and let him inside. Enrique thanked her and went straight to the kitchen to put down his groceries first.

"What are you going to cook by the way?" Liza asked and leans her back on the sink.

"I was thinking of maybe sinigang? What do you think?" Enrique asked while taking out the items he bought from the paper bag.

"Great! I can help you." Liza pushed her back on the sink and went over to Enrique.

"You can start chopping up the onions and tomatoes while I prepare the other ingredients." Enrique said looking at her.

"Okay then." Liza turned around to get the chopping board that was hanging behind her and a knife.

"Do you wanna use an apron? I have an extra one here." Enrique handed out a yellow apron with printed bears as the design.

Liza took it from him and put it on, she was about to tie the ribbon on the back until she felt Enrique's large, warm hands accidentally hold hers.

"Um, I'll do it." Enrique shyly muttered and ties the ribbon.

"Thank you." Liza turns her head around and gave him a small smile. Enrique looks away and only nods then resumed washing the pork and Liza continued to mince the onions and tomatoes.

Once they were done preparing the ingredients, Enrique put the pork and onions on a big pot with water for the soup then he opened the stove, Liza only watched him from the dining.

"Wanna help me design the cake?" Enrique asked from the kitchen while getting the ingredients he needs for designing the cake. Liza stands up without saying anything and walks back into the kitchen.

"We are going to make a Strawberry shortcake!" Enrique happily says and picks the strawberry from the container one by one pretends to give it a kiss with matching closed eyes and then he turns to Liza wriggling his eyebrows.

Liza laughed at his face, catching Enrique off-guard 'cuz hello? Liza hasn't cracked a chuckle or laugh at them since Chapter 3! Only a few smiles, but never a laugh!

And oh God did she look attractive while laughing in Enrique's eyes.

He didn't notice that he's still staring at her laughing face.

Until he heard Nadine yell something from the living room.

"Hey! You two! Mukhang kayo ang lalanggamin dyan kesa yung cake!" She teased then Alden laughed while James looked innocent since he didn't understand what she said except for the 'Hey you two!' part.

"Nadz!" Liza looked down in embarrassment and Enrique thinks she looks cute.

"Let's just get this over with." Liza muttered, still looking down.

"Y-yeah..." He stuttered and he felt his cheeks flush! Why is he blushing?!!!

He gave her the icing bag filled with pink icing while he worked on the strawberries. She would put the icing then he would put a strawberry dipped in chocolate on the icing.

He glanced up on her from time to time and saw her face, eyebrows met in concentration and she was biting her lip every time she puts on icing.

"There!" They finished designing their Strawberry cake and paused to take an appreciative a look on their work.

"Hey look, there's only one strawberry!" Liza pointed at the strawberry on the container.

Enrique picked it up and gave it to her, Liza raised her hands.

"No, you can have it if you want. I'm good." -Liza.

"No, it's alright you can take it." -Enrique.

"No, you go."

"No really, I'm fine."

"O-okay then." Liza was about to get the strawberry from his hands but he inched it away.

"I'll feed it to ya! Open your mouth!" Enrique grinned making Liza roll her eyes.

"You don't have to-- oomph!" Enrique stuffed the strawberry on her mouth.

"Yummy right?" He asked.

Liza chewed on the strawberry and swallowed it before answering. "Yeah."

"Dinners ready!" Enrique yelled while carefully setting down the bowl filled with hot sinigang.

Nadine, James and Alden walked over to the dining table, James pulled out a chair to for Nadine sit and then he sat next to her.

"Here, come on let's eat!" Liza said while carrying a large plate with rice then sat down next to Enrique.

They prayed first before going to eat but suddenly they heard a loud thunder clap followed by a heavy downpour.

"Oh no... Liza how are we going to go home nyan? Ang lakas ng ulan!" Nadine pointed outside the window.

"You guys can stay here if you want. You too James and Alden, you can sleep at the guestroom upstairs don't worry there are two beds." Enrique offered.

"We could but we don't have any comfy clothes." -Liza.

"I could let you borrow my shirt and some shorts." -Enrique.

"What do you think, Nadz?" Liza asks.

"I don't think the rain's gonna stop until tomorrow so yes." Nadine said looking outside.

"Come on, let's eat! I'm hungry!" Alden said and scooped some rice and sinigang.

"Me too!" -James.

He scooped some rice for him and for Nadine then he also put sinigang on her bowl.

"Thanks!" Nadine chirped and started to eat, James only smiled.
