Chapter 45.

Nadine yawned loudly and twisted her room's door knob open, Maine was behind her-- still looking around. Liza changed her clothes in her room first and as for Daniel, he was preparing their dinner.

"Come in." Nadine opened her door wider and went inside her room, Maine followed her inside.

Nadine dragged a soft, snow white beanbag to Maine. "Sit. I'll just change my clothes, here's the AC remote." She gave Maine the remote then she went inside to her walk-in closet.

Maine plopped down on the beanbag then turned on the AC on full blast, patiently waiting for Nadine to finish, her eyes scanned her friend's room. Her walls were painted in white with a little touch of black and dark brown. Everything in Nadine's room is well-organized.

Nadine changed into a clean, orange, comfy tank top and red cotton pajama pants and some yellow fuzzy slippers then she tied her head in a messy ponytail. Then she went out to find Maine now standing in front of her big bookshelf, her pointer finger pointing at one specific book.

"Hey." Nadine walked forward to Maine, she turned her attention to her and dropped her hand from her bookshelf.

"Oh hey. So are you going to show it to me now?" Maine smiled softly.

Nadine simply nodded. "Excuse me," Maine stepped aside for a bit.

Nadine stood on her toes and reached for a thin red book, she tipped the book off the shelf a bit then she stood on her feet again. The shelf slowly split in half and inside, it revealed a room with a huge steel box inside, big chains were wrapped around the box and a a lock, locked it in place.

Nadine stepped inside the room and took out her necklace that was wrapped around her neck and pulled out the key. She inserted it on the lock and twisted it then she stepped back a bit.

The chains fell-- along with the lock and then Nadine put her hand on the hand scanner, the box's lid opened and inside, many injections were filled with the same green-ish substance.

"Whoa..." Maine whispered in amazement peering over at the injections.

"So... What now?" Maine asked.

Nadine picked up one injection and held it up, slightly examining it before turning to Maine.

"Injecting this requires to be extra careful." Nadine informs. "I'll inject this to you now. It'll last in six months you can come back here a week before your due date para ma-injectunan kita ulit."

Maine nods and takes off her blazer then pops open the two buttons of her Oxford shirt open. Nadine readies the injection, Maine leaned a little bit to expose her neck to Nadine.

She checks her neck first and points the tip of the needle to her pulse.

"Ready?" -Nadine.

"Mmm"

Nadine carefully injects the serum off to her neck, Maine bites her bottom.

"There..." Nadine whispers.

Maine's body falls on the floor.

"WAAAHHHH!!!! FUUUUCCCKKK!!! I-IT HU-HURTS! ARGH!" Maine letting out an ear-piercing scream.

Nadine silently kneels next to her and watches her friend scream in pain.

"That's the side-effect. Don't worry, it will end after 20 seconds..."

Nadine heard someone knock on her door she stood up and went out of the small room, leaving Maine screaming, to open her door.
