"It's so sad that Marcus Jr. couldn't go," she said when we got to a little grocery store.

"He told me that he still has plans with his friends besides there's only one month left before school starts," I replied.

I pulled out a shopping cart and went to the chips section.

Audrey was looking and grabbing random chips and before putting it in the shopping cart, she would read the contents first. She was utterly gratifying.

We were about to go to the drinks section when she said all of a sudden, "It's my turn to pay."

Her sudden reaction was almost comical.

"Audrey, it's not yet time to pay. We still have to buy something to drink but I'm still not going to let you pay."

She pouted and shook her head. "James, you've already spent enough money for me."

I was melted by her fondness. We were acting like a married couple and that thought alone made me blush madly. Sadly, she noticed me.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

"Nothing. It's just - we're like a married couple."

A smile was slowly forming on her lips.

"I thought about that too," she replied.

Then we both laughed. Deep inside of me, I really hope that she'll be my future.
