"James, why do I need to be blindfolded?" Audrey asked aloud.
I chuckled and said, "It's a surprise."
"I'm a bit scared James," she softly replied.
"Don't be scared and don't worry, we're already close."
I can't help but feel anxious and nervous. What if she wouldn't like the house?
No matter how hard I tried to push these negative thoughts away, it just kept going back to me.
I quickly snapped out of my thoughts when I realized that we're already close to our destination. I then went to park the car just outside of the house.
I heard Audrey took a deep breath when the engine stopped.
"We're finally here," I nervously said.
"Can I remove the blindfold now?" she asked.
"Not yet," I simply replied.
I went out of the car and ran towards Audrey and helped her out.
I held her hands and made sure she wouldn't trip during her walk.
We kept walking and when we arrived at the front of the small gate, I stopped, which caused her to stop too.
"Okay Audrey, you can remove your blindfold now," I said.
She slowly pulled off the piece of cloth.
When her eyes opened, she suddenly gasped.
"Surprise," I quietly said.
There was silence for a moment. Her eyes were wide and her hand placed on her mouth.
"James, this is-" she stuttered.
For some odd reason, I felt downhearted. I don't even know if she's happy or not yet why do I get the feeling that she doesn't like it?
My heart was broken a bit.
'Maybe this is a bit too much. Maybe I should have just waited for her. She might think that I'm a creep. I don-'
"James I love it!"
I was kicked out of my thoughts when Audrey suddenly attacked me with a bear hug.
"This house is perfect! I can't believe it," she said.
I hugged her back and kissed her forehead.
She then added, "I'm already shy. You've done so much for me, Jimmy."
"Audrey, I love you. I will do anything for you and I really want to surprise you. I asked Elizabeth for help by the way," I replied.
Audrey looked up at me with adoration. The look that's making this whole thing worth it.
"You're such a darling James. I'm so lucky to have you."
My heart started pounding. The butterflies in my stomach were appearing again. I felt giddy.
"I'm more lucky to have you," I said sincerely.
"Shall we go inside, milady?" I added.
She giggled and nodded.
We both ran inside, hand in hand while laughing.
