Sapphire looked at her dad flabbergasted. Her parents had powers!

"Are you serious?" she asked, her stomach bubbling with excitement. She's finally getting more answers about her past.

He softly nodded his head, "I never really got to know them, but I remember the day that you came into our lives," he said, smiling at the ground.

"Was I given to you guys Harry Potter style - like placed on the doorstep and everything?" Sapphire giggled.

"Ah man, what if you were?" he laughed.

"Then how was I given to you guys?" she asked.

"Your parents were there when they gave us you. I remember because you were sleeping so peacefully as they placed you in my arms." her father explained.

She told her father all about her powers, including the details about that day in the science room and how she ran away so no one could see her hair and eyes. She was so thankful that her father seemed to understand a rather strange circumstance.

The rest of the night, they ended up talking about mindless things, and for the first time in a while, Sapphire thought that everything was fine.

The next day, she felt a lot better now that she had shared the news with her father and how he understood.

She covered her eyes, for the sun was in her eyes, and suddenly a large splash of water hit the window. She sighed as she went over and wiped the water from the window, hoping that the morning sun would dry it up.

Her powers weren't exactly controllable just yet. Sometimes she is able to control what to do with the water but other times it just shoots out from her hands like an advanced water gun.

She went over and grabbed some clothes to wear for the day. She didn't look to see what it was, but she made sure that they'd match in color. After placed a beanie over her hair, she went to school.

Just to her luck, she met one of the least favorite people at school on her way to school.

Jackson and all of his buddies.

"Oh hey...look who it is." Jackson sneered.

"Forgot my name? That's quite surprising since you have a hard time keeping it out of your mouth." she snapped.

The boy looked taken back in surprise, "Since when did you ever learn to stand up for yourself?"

Sapphire gave him a cold stare, feeling her eyes lightly burn. She quickly looked away and kept walking along, leaving Jackson feeling slightly confused at the whole interaction.

She got to school feeling unsure. Unsure of what the day might bring and unsure of whether or not people will ask her questions.

She didn't think that anyone would because they don't really talk to her anyway, but she was just hoping that no one would make a big deal out of it. Besides, it was only two days that she missed.

She ended up coming to school earlier than she had thought. She still had plenty of time before she had to go to class.

"Should I just sit in the math room until class started?" she thought.

Then she realized the last time that she went to the math room and saw all the teachers and the one man that looked like Dumbledore and she decided that there are better places to go. Just to make sure that she didn't walk in on anything else.

She walked into the lunchroom and sat down near the corner so she could people watch as others began to head into the lunchroom.

"Oh, hi there Sapphire!" a girl said.

Sapphire looked up, curious about who wanted her attention.

She instantly recognized her as Dawn Jones. Dawn smiled at her, her dark brown eyes looking friendly as her dark brown hair was worn in a high ponytail. She had a long-sleeved pale blue shirt with embroidered fishes on the top across her collarbone. She was wearing dark blue jean shorts and white Vans.

She was one of the girls who she had never talked to in her English class. From what she knew of her, she didn't have a group of friends that she normally hung out with and she usually was in the library or hanging out in the band room. She remembers a whole bunch of rumors, but she had no need to believe them since her school was just one big place filled with rumors.

Sapphire waved politely and invited her to sit down. Dawn happily sat down right across from her.

"So, I've seen that you've been missing school for the past few days, and I just wanted to know if you have any problems, that I am right here to help in any way I can," Dawn said, giving her a reassuring smile.

Sapphire smiled back, "If you really want to hear quite a story, then I'll go ahead and tell you."

"I'd love to hear it!" Dawn replied, her happy aura shining brightly.

Sapphire explained the whole scene of the teachers being in the math room, with the old man at the front teaching about who knows what.

"Oh wow, there is a guy that looks like Dumbledore?" she asked, "I've never seen him around here before."

Sapphire just shrugged, not exactly wanting to relive the memory.

"I was scared when I saw all the teachers hanging out with a Dumbledore-looking dude. You suppose that he was teaching about magic?" Sapphire joked a little.

"It's really weird that they would be discussing magic when it doesn't exist," Dawn pondered.

Sapphire agreed nonchalantly - she couldn't reveal anything to someone that wouldn't know anything about powers.

Sapphire had to explain the reason that she had been gone yesterday - that a man had tried to kidnap her and when she escaped that she nearly was shot but managed to have a getaway. She made sure to not include any information about meeting Phoenix.

"That sounds horrific!" she exclaimed, "I'm thankful that you were able to escape safely. Be careful the next time you're walking by yourself! I can't believe that there would anyone like that in our community. "

"Thanks, Dawn. I've been more careful so no need to worry," said Sapphire.

Dawn patted Sapphire on the shoulder, "Well, the bell is about to ring, so here's my phone number. Text me or call me whenever you need something." she said, giving Sapphire a little piece of paper before grabbing her things, just as the bell rang.
