Sapphire went to all of her normal classes without any problems. She saw Dawn a couple of times and waved politely at each other, having a couple of words exchanged.

So far, she has a successful day - her powers didn't randomly show as she had expected, no one really bugged her about what had happened, and she hadn't received any other attention other than Dawn.

Once she heard the final bell ring, she smiled, knowing that she could go home and chat with Dawn, since she had done all of her homework already. She ran out of the school and ran all the way home, excited that things have seemed to go her way.

When she got home, she saw her father in the living room with a newspaper in his hands. "Hi, honey! How was school?" he asked, muffled by the paper.

"It was great. I met a new friend and I was planning on talking to her because I have no homework tonight because I got it all done at school!" she smiled,

Her dad gave her a bright smile in return, "Sounds like you've had a wonderful day so far! I have something to ask of you first before you head up to your room." he asked.

"Hm?" Sapphire responded, on her way to the pantry to grab a snack.

"Would you be comfortable if I see your powers?" he asked. "I've never seen powers be used before so I wanted to be able to see them."

"Yeah sure." she shrugged.

She walked over to their kitchen and she took a glass from the shelves, "Just so you know, I don't them one hundred percent controlled just yet but I can do this one trick pretty well," she explained.

Her father motioned a hand for her to continue.

"Here, you see, is a glass." She looked at the glass, showing it off like a lame magician. She heard her father chuckle at her weirdness.

She concentrated on filling up the glass. She heard her father say, "Woah..." as the water formed in the glass, making her hands feel cold. Sapphire gave the glass of water to her father, as he was still spellbound.

"That's really impressive, sweetie. I'm sorry to ruin the mood but I just remembered...we haven't told your mother yet have we?" he asked.

Sapphire shook her head, "What would she do if she knew? Do you think she would be okay with it?" she asked.

Her father looked through the window, the gears in his head turning, "I do not think that her response would be very...positive, to say the least."

Sapphire was confused as to why she would not be okay with it, "But why? Didn't she let me into her household knowing that I came from a family that had powers? So why would there be any hassle?"

Before Sapphire could hear her father's response, she heard the door open from the living room. Sapphire felt her anxiety stir in her stomach when she connected the pieces and realized that it was her mother walking through the door.

Her mother walked in, her hair was slightly messy, as she tried to get through the door without dropping her purse plus all of the items that were in her arms.

"Hi, Mom." Sapphire waved, as her anxiety stirred even more.
